My Next Door Neighbours Dog is Pissing Me Off

When the neighbour is out all day or night on Fridays or the weekend her dog constantly barks non stop.

Makes me want to shut the 4 legged mutt up mad

I have no idea if it has free reign in her place or it's in a kennel box.

Just had to vent...........

I hate to hear that any owner would leave a dog outside ALL day or night. Dogs are left vulnerable to mean people that way. Its just irresponsible unless you are in a very rural area where human contact most likely will not happen (like a farm) .

She only let's it outside to do it's bizness. Other than that it's pretty much cooped up inside her place.

Oh, and I was going by your OP saying the doggie was left out on the weekends. I hope those owners keep an eye on that doggie while doing so.

hmmm

Some doggies are natural noise makers, some are more quiet by nature. That doggie must hate being alone. She may need a playmate.

I had that problem with a beagle, I would toss the dog cowhide balls to quiet him down. It worked and my neighbors didn't mind. biggrin

Been there, done that. The woman who lives directly below me used to have a dog that barked allllll the time. Drove me nuts. I think something happened to the dog, because I used to see the dog being walked all the time outside. But I haven't seen it around in a long time. I think it got old and/or sick and had to be put down. I don't miss the barking one bit.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

at about 6:30 this morning (Sunday) I'm outside in 30-something degree weather in my PJs, slippers and coat, yelling (as best as one can at that hour..) "Hello?.. Hello??" for my neighbor to come to the door..

Every frickin' morning her 2 little dogs wake me - and I'm guessing, the whole block - up..

Weekdays, it's around the same time as I get up so it's not as annoying, but on the weekends???

there's a gated front to their basement level apt; she leaves them out there barking for like 20 minutes every day.. A small poodle/poodle-something and an even smaller I-dunno-what. Very cute, but yappy -- but before the sun comes up --- NO.

when she finally came to the door, all I could get out was "EVERY MORNING?!?!??"

Oh.. I sorry..

"EVERY MORNING?!?!??"

You go back to sleep now

"EVERY MORNING?!?!??"

mad walk back to my place..

I have a small breed dog, but she doesn't bark at every little thing (and I certainly wouldn't leave her alone outside (and in freezing temps!) for so long, or that damn early to be a bother to the whole damn block)

I don't understand why we have such clueless, stupid ppl... neutral I'm not amused... lol

Some of you guys need to toss some opened peanut butter jars at these noisy dogs... even stick tuns fish in the jars for an added treat... this would give the doggies bad doggie farts for your inconsiderate neighbors.

I used to have that same problem with my neighbor until I called the apartment manager and they put a stop to it. As for my new neighbors kids, they are worse than the dog when it comes to noise. Even the neighbors themselves are loud ALL DAY ALL NIGHT. WTF

Yeah, and she does it almost every freaking weekend. She's a recently divorced single mother with a young 5 year old daughter. She leaves the dog inside while she goes off and parties, gets laid or whatever, from Friday and comes home on Sunday. And it barks continuously, seems needy.

I know when the woman comes home coz that's when the barking stops. In a way she's neglecting the animal.

Soooo...actually your neighbor is pissing you off. The dog is just doing what dogs do. Your neighbor is the one being irresponsible. If anything, you should punch your nieghbor, not hurt the dog.

Then if you were a dog, wouldn't you be barking too? And you want to go over and shut it up and make its day even more miserable? Tsk tsk! no no no!

Well, it's funny how people can go to jail for animal abuse, but you pay property damage if you for an example poison their dog, especially if your neighbor knows that it is you.

I've heard of that... so ridiculous.. neutral

if you kill someone's pet, your azz belongs in jail.. neutral

As for the peanut butter... it is seriously unwise to tell others to give an animal that's not theirs any kind of food. you never know what kind of restricted diet or medication the pet may be on, or what else it may have consumed that day....

if the person trying to shut the dog up only has chunky peanut butter, they could end up killing the poor animal since whole nuts can kill a dog (and the smaller the dog, the worse/faster the damage).

Will kill a dog or make it very, very ill if consumed in large quantities or over a long period of time:

onions

tomatoes

nuts

grapes or raisins

chocolate (the darker it is [the higher the cocoa %], the worse it is)

alcohol

seeds or pits from fruit (like apples, grapes)

Yeah, but many dog owners allow their dogs creamy peanut butter as a treat, they allow their dogs to fininsh off the peanut butter jar.

It keeps them quiet is all I am saying. Its better than fighting with a rude neighbor that knows their dog is barking like that.

I didn't say anything about poisoning a dog. hmph! I don't know why you would relate giving a dog peanut butter to trying to kill someone's dog? I wouldn't recommend piosoning a dog, and if your neighbor thinks you would... then a bitch needs to keep their dog indoors. wink

And actually, I wouldn't recommend peanut butter if a child in the household has a peanut allergy. That's the worst that can happen regarding peanut butter. Besides, any person that leaves their dog out all night is abusive in book my anyways. Why do people do that?

If you are afraid to give the dog cowhide balls to chew or peanut butter, then call animal control on them and report them to the landlord or city through a mayor's help line.

Easy peasy. If not buy earplugs or learn to live with the noise. headache
