I had to shave today on account of a funeral I've got to go to Friday. I want to start growing it again Saturday, but it looks like we're going to have to have a family vote. The guys will (better) vote "yea" but the girls are going to vote "nay".

I think the dog will have to break the tie. Luckily, she likes me best (I feed her).

Why do your kids get a vote? Your wife is the only one who should be able to have any sort of, umm... "bargaining chip" on this matter. lol

LOL, you would THINK so, wouldn't you? However, anyone that's lived with a 14-year-old girl can vouch that they get a vote whether you give them one or not!

The trick is to get them to think that want YOU want to do is THEIR idea. Once you master that technique, you can do anything.

Imagine my dad, who had four teenage daughters at one point - with no son for back-up! lol

LOL, my wife came from a family of four daughters, too. I was the first son-in-law. Boy, was he glad to see me!

Maybe that's why my dad worked such long hours... hmmm

When my sister got married, my toast had a "Dad finally got a son, and we finally got a brother" theme. lol

My wife's folks had a farm and a country, and they'd go up there every weekend. To date my wife, I had to go there, too. Which meant I got to mow about 4 acres every Friday afternoon, then bus tables at the country inn Friday and Saturday nights.

I didn't like bussing tables much, but I loved mowing the yard. I grew up on 6 acres with 50 trees, so 4 acres with about 10 trees was like a holiday!

To this day, I still mow my own lawn (much smaller, though). These days, it's about the only time I can put on headphones and listen to the music I like.

I suppose all this is relevant to the thread given your extensive experience being a beard.

falloff @ this site (which I might start referring to as the "other" org hmmm).

falloff x 1000 @ there being "Success Stories" and "Featured Beard" sections.

I want to write a Dear Beard.org... letter but I'm afraid I'll just end up blacklisting myself within the...um...beard community.

This is where my beard is at so far:

biggrin

I'm thrilled at the reactions, especially since I never in a thousand years would've pictured myself growing facial hair and actually really getting into this whole beard thing.
