Uninstalling/Removing unwanted shit...and shit.

I didn't want BING toolbar.

I didn't want YAHOO toolbar.

Now I can't seem to get rid of either even though I uninstalled something called "yahoo toolbar" in the MF Add/Remove thingy.

Breathe, johnart, breathe. sigh

Well, first of all, you SHOULD be able to go to View/Toolbars and uncheck any toolbars you don't want to see. So at least it will be "out of sight, out of mind".

Now. Did you close and re-open your browser after uninstalling? If so...

Close your browser and try to uninstall it again. Before reopening your browswer go to your Program Files folder and delete the Yahoo Toolbar folder. If you want to get really hard core you could also go to Run, type in regedit and search for Yahoo Toolbar - delete whatever it finds and search again until it stops finding things.

What do you use for regular virus protection? When you run a full scan with that does it find anything malicious? If so, you may have to get really geeky to get rid of it (follow path to it's location, delete, find name of file in registry and delete, run scan again, find malicious files, follow path, delete, find in registry and delete, repeat, repeat, repeat). Are you using Internet Explorer? You could just install Firefox and use that as your default browser if you are. That might fix the problem for now. It's really the rare bug that I haven't been able to catch with Spybot, though.

When I've rid computers of malware/viruses . ., my first option and the simplest way, is to run a different malware/virus software because inevitable it finds stuff your software doesn't.

The reason I advised uninstalling SuperAntiSpyware it's a bit of a resource hog and there is no reason to have 3 malware software programs on your computer and it may cause conflict with AVG software. I would advise you to turnoff your AVG virus software while you running SUPER ANTI SPYWARE scan and I would disconnect my internet too.

I'm sorry meant this one above, not Spybot S&D.

Used to use Norton, but everyone said Norton sucks on that other malware thread. lol
Been using AVG cuz Ron has never had issues on his computer and that's what he has on it. Of course, I go on the net a lot more.

Spybot found something twice and removed it. But that shop to win pop up bs remains.

Are you using Internet Explorer? If so, it's probably buried in there somewhere. Firefox is WAY easy to install and I'm 99.9% sure you'd loose whatever is attacking you right now. I certainly wouldn't want to be using a bunch of personal information with that attached to my browser. If you are using Firefox try switching back to IE.

Yes. Then go to your Program Files folder and delete the Mozilla Firefox folder if it's not already gone. Then do all the scans again.

Do I run them in safe mode with internet off?

Not sure about the last question yet. You can always reinstall it to see and uninstall it if the problem continues. But for now I would uninstall Firefox, delete the folder if it's not gone already, restart your PC and run the scans in normal mode. If there is something trying to use your internet to do evil behind the scenes the scans may not find it in safe mode (or they might, lol but I would do all this in normal mode).

I still think it's possible that you may have something that is regenerating itself with different names. This is very common, but running multiple scans with updated search parameters will usually find and isolate the little bastards. When they don't, removing them can start to get more tricky. In your case it would definitely involve following the paths to their locations, removing them and searching for them in your registry until you got to the root file to stop it from regenerating. But that's for later. For now, just try the uninstall, delete and rescan. Lets see if you find anything else.
