House warming gift idea...Help!

Ok, some friends of ours are moving into their new house soon.

I need some ideas for a housewarming gift.

Thank you.

A really nice his/her monogrammed towel set.

I'm sure my response won't be the most creative.....

House warming gifts i've given would include a houseplant, bottle of champagne or a nice vase. That's as creative as I get.

I like to give plants -- but only if I know the person will be okay with it (ie. they have a bit of a green thumb or own other houseplants). I usually try to research meanings of plants and fit that to the recepient/occasion. For example, for my friend's bridal shower I gave her an orange tree - it is said to represent chastity and fertility (lol), faithfulness, and eternal love, so it is a common gift for brides. Seven years later they still have it. smile

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Candles. I know. So predictable. lol

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

Don't give them anything decorative unless you know it's something they actually want.

How about something for organization?

Or something like this (if they like wine) along with a nice bottle or two of course.

Or a pair nice luxurious throws they can cozy up with on the couch (but put away when not in use).

I thought you would say matching Snuggies.

Do you know what their decor is like?

And do they display family photos?

I'm not a huge photo displayer. boxed

A few in certain spots of the house (mostly den).

But some (or one) NICE (maybe hand-bound) photo ALBUMS!!! nod

There's some folk in Etsy who do awesome ones. Not the country-bumpkin ones, the really chic ones.

You'll need a lot of candles to warm an English house smile

What if they hate stained glass? lol

I'd be thankful for the thought but pissed that now someone expects me to put out a stained glass if it's not my thing. Am I a bitch for that? boxed
