Yeah they do scare me. Whenever I'm around a cop, I'm always afraid they may have something against me, like "hey, are you [frenchguy]? You'd have to follow us...". They just...scare me. I live in neighborhood where there's a lot of illegal stuff going on (drug dealing, prostitution, selling stolen stuff...), so cops around here always have that suspicious look when they walk around...

a couple years ago my brother in law showed up at our house completely high and flipping the hell out.

Call 911, the cops show up before he can leave. They pull him over.

He is HIGH. Has drugs IN HIS POSSESSION. Has drugs IN HIS CAR.

They question him and my sister for a couple hours and they

LET

GO

This is the last 20 years for us. He gets out of every situation and gets away with everything. He is either an informant or has something on the cops. But the end result is that my family was never protected from him. The cops did NOT DO THEIR JOB and we had to pay for it.

What are your options? And BTW, statistically, there are far more police doing good than there are corrupt. It would be like refusing to eat out for fear that some kid making $5.00 an hour will spit in your food. You can't go through life expecting the worst in people.

The cops here in Wisconsin have always been super cool, professional, and very human. I have nothing but respect for them. Just people doing their job and probably dealing with a lot of idiotic bullshit every day.

Unfortunately here in California, the cops have been turned into glorified collection agents who stalk the populace so they can help generate money for the state. Instead of dealing with hardcore criminals and crime, they'll sit at corners and wait for someone to walk against the light so they can run up and ticket them for the few hundred dollar fine that the court will collect not out of any justice but pure unadulterated BS.
