I just got cursed out at the movie theater by a 14 year old girl.

so me my daughter and her friend went to see Unstoppable tonight and the girls were in the bathroom when I went to get our seats. So I walk in and I find 3 seats together and i put my coat and purse in them from behind the seats and then I walked around. as I was walking around some kids were standing at the end of the aisle and one little girl was sitting down. As I was moving my way by her to my seat which was 5 past her, she says what are you doing? I said I am going to my seat she said well we were here first and I said what? she said you need to move and I said little girl who are you talking to, she said you and I said little girl please and kept moving so she turned in her seat and said you disrespected me and I said what? you are a child and she said I am not a child and I said yes you are, PLEASE, and she said I am not a child I am a a a a teenager and I said child and at that point she said you need to shut the fuck up and I said who are you talking you you need to shut the fuck up...and then I stopped realizing I am an adult in public in a theater full of teenagers that I know. My daughter and her friend walked up at that point and the child is still talking and the friend said mama is she talking to you? and I said yes and then immediately NO! but by then she had dropped her stuff and was running toward this girl calling her a hoe and not to talk like that to her mama. My daughter jumped over the seats but was grabbed by the usher who had also started yelling at this child. I ran to my daughter's friend and literally held her back from getting at this girl. management came and asked me some questions but no one got kicked out. So then we watched the movie and after all my kids came up to me about this girl. I told them all to stop and forget it because no more shit. BUT Damn I have NEVER wanted to slap a child so bad in my life. I haven't seen anyone go from calm to killer that fast in a long time either, it took everything I had to stop my daughter's friend from hurting that girl.

Ugh I am less than 3 months away from no longer being a teenager, thank goodness. That age group is embarrassing and terrifying.

I often try to go to the movies/mall at unpopular hours to avoid swarms of these types.

I would've tried to get her kicked out though lol

Kinda strange, kinda awesome.

In the Hollywood version, I can see see Manny Pacquiao playing your daughter, and Antonio Margarito playing that unruly girl.

There is something about the 14-year-old girl and the word "respect". rolleyes

I hear that shit all the time at school:

  • "That teacher disrespected me..."
  • "He/She disrespected me...."

blahblah

It's like they learned a new word and are trying to "own it".

Remember the days when we wouldn't curse in earshot of an adult, let alone AT an adult? disbelief

I'm sorry that happened to you.

sad

Ugh, that is a total pet peeve of mine.

I think it's just where they're at developmentally - they're beginning to think of themselves as "not children" anymore, so they get obsessed with the idea that they deserve "respect" and all the ways in which they feel they're getting it and not getting it. They're idiots, but so were we. It's cute when I think about it. But when I'm confronted with it I still want to rolleyes soooo hard. lol

It's what you make it.

Oh I do. Most of them are athletes though so that can be a problem. I KNOW this isn't over. I told my daughter to stay out of it though so when she gets her ass beat at school they can't trace it back to me, it will be just a random ass whipping.

BELIEVE ME, the only reason that didn't happen was because I told them not too. This is a small town and I don't want none of this tied back to my name.

I was too, but damn it was dangerous, usually I have 3 -4 girls with me, if I would have had the one who was supposed to go, there would have been a stompin, police and some 'spaining to do. I couldn't have called them all off. That child just don't know. I saved her life last night.

there are so many kids that call me mama in this town, and most of them are HOT heads so shrug I can't control them all, I can just TELL them to squash it, whether they listen is up to them.

We are living in an age where parents strive to be "friends " with their kids when they become teenagers. That kids need their precious self-esteem to remain unchallenged by any adult.

This allows kids to have a sense of entitlement to be able to tell a grown ass adult about themselves.

These kids also are taught that they should be heard... that the universe should revolve around them.

Pathetic. We are raising a bunch of brats that have zero social skills in society.

Why are parents trying to be friends with their kids? WTF? Don't they realize these kids need PARENTS? Not buddies?

Heck become a buddy to you kid when they are 30, and out your house... not at 12.

Ok rant over. lol

I totally agree with you. The only reason I was able to stop my daughter's friend is that she knew I wasn't playing when I said STOP. I love these kids, BUT they know I am mama not your best friend. All the kids know this about me. They know I don't play so that is why when I felt my self going off I had to stop and maintain in public with all those eyes on me. If I would have gone ghetto like I wanted to oooohhh weee. But yeah that is one of my BIGGEST pet peeves, yes children need self esteem and empowerment to a POINT they don't need to think their shit don't stink though. It's a fine line and unfortunately many people my age and younger have not figured it out yet, they are still mad at their parents for whatever injustice they feel they were subjected to by their parents and are still trying not to be like them, in the mean time they are phucking up their kids and we have maniacs and idiots roaming the streets.
