Now don't get it twisted. In Rocky III, it was Mickey that didn't want Clubber to have his title shot against Rocky. Mickey was the one that was setting up ALL of Rocky's title defenses against weaker opponents (without Rocky knowing about it!) because he didn't want to see Rocky take too many hard hits to the head, which was something that Clubber was damn good as giving.

In a sad twist of irony, Rocky would still suffer long-term effect on his health at the end of Rocky IV & throughout Rocky V because of too many hits to the head by Ivan Drago.

Yes Tony honey I do know the Rocky movies quite well and while you are correct in that Mickey didn't want Rocky to fight Clubber and was setting up the weak opponents for him to fight after he became the champ, that still doesn't mean (or prove) that Rocky knew absolutely nothing about Clubber. Just sayin' whistling

falloff Ya'll are really killin' me with this Rocky debate lol

Pacquiao to retire in 3 years, OK to fight Marquez

MANILA, Philippines (AP)—His status as a great fighter secure following his latest victory, Manny Pacquiao plans to leave boxing in three years.

Pacquiao, a congressman, spoke in the Philippine House of Representatives on Monday. He received the congressional medal for the second time.

Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao hugs his daughters Queen Elizabeth, left, and Princess upon arrival early Saturday Nov. 20, 2010 at the Manila International Airport in Manila, Philippines, from Los Angeles. Pacquiao, now a congressman, defeated Mexico's Antonio Margarito in their WBC super welterweight fight on Nov. 13 to become the only boxer to hold 8 championship belts in 8 different divisions.

Pacquiao turns 32 next month and was asked at a news conference when he intends to retire.

“Not too long from now,” he said. “But I don’t want to go beyond 35.”

Pacquiao scored a lopsided decision over Antonio Margarito on Nov. 13 in Arlington, Texas. He is the only the only boxer to hold eight championship belts in eight different divisions.

Pacquiao is willing to fight Mexico’s Juan Manuel Marquez again, although he understands that might not excite fans.

“I think people are not so interested … because if I were a boxing fan, I would not watch Pacquiao vs. Marquez,” he said.

Pacquiao was elected representative of southern Sarangani province in May national elections. He has surprised many by taking his new job as seriously as boxing. He said he had initiated steps to build the first provincial hospital for Sarangani’s 500,000 residents, in addition to offering programs for the poor.

In accepting the congressional award, Pacquiao said he was inspired in the ring by the love for his country, and that his achievements show Filipinos can excel against all odds.

“My championship belt in the eighth weight division, the first in the history of boxing, shall forever cement the Filipino people as the eighth wonder of the world,” Pacquiao said.

Abdul

The only way I'd have interest in a third Pacquiao - Marquez fight was if it's fought at 140 and under.

Marquez is at his best at lightweight (135) or junior welterweight (140). I felt they split the first two, with Manny winning the first fight and Marquez winning the second, a rubber match would be great if it's fought at those weights I suggested.

If the fight with Mayweather's not next I'd like to see him square off with Andre Berto, the HBO hype job that hasn't fought anybody yet. I'd like to see if Berto could shine in the bright lights of a big fight with Manny.
