my attorneys will be in touch.....

How litiginous are you?

if someone did you a real wrong, and you could prove it, would you want to sue them? how about if you had free legal counsel?
what would be your threshold for saying "yeah, that's it. my attorneys will be in touch?"

I've only ever sued someone once - when their dog attacked me and bit me in the abdomen. shrug

I'm not litigious. I've never sued anyone, and I think I'd have to have a really strong case before the possibility would even cross my mind.

I never sued anybody unless you count my divorce. It'd have to be a pretty bad situation for me to take action.

I know this one lady who is sue happy. I'd love to see her legal fees, cuz she has so many bogus lawsuits its not even funny.

what if you didn't think it was the right thing to do, but you thought the person should be taught a lesson one way or another? what if it were someone who had really crossed more than one line?

I just saw your original question about what if you had free legal counsel? If I had had free legal counsel earlier this year, I might have sued CVS. They screwed up a prescription for me and it totally messed me up.

I took a landlord to small claims court for withholding a portion of my deposit. He tried to pull some mess where he said I didn't need to pay a further months rent because I wanted to move quickly (he put it in writing), but when I got my deposit check back he had magically withheld the rent amount (without EVER informing me he was going to do so). We were in court for about ten minutes, I got my money. Other than that I've never even considered being litigious. I suppose I would if the situation called for it. But it seems like a huge, expensive pain in the ass if it's not absolutely necesarry.

i dunno. i work in litigation, it ain't fun. but what if this this person, let's call him pookie, has a pattern of abusive behavior? and has maybe even done obnoxious things to more than one person while power tripping?

assuming he's a truly scary, rich, freak, what would be the right thing to do?

what would be your threshold for saying "yeah, that's it. my attorneys will be in touch?"

That, in and of itself, is not a grounds to sue.

There has to be some provision in the civil law that you can show.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

It does tend to complicate matters. Particularly when conservatives are involved.

Being obnoxious is not grounds to sue.

You are allowed to be obnoxious (to more than one person even).

Define abusive . . . .

Criminally abusive? Call the cops.

Verbally abusive. Depends on the situation and the jurisdiction.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I've got no aversion to suing someone given a solid legal reason to do so. I've just never been violated such that I stood any recovery big enough to justify the amount of time, energy, money, etc. that goes into a lawsuit.
