The past 3 1/2 years my mom and I have probably spent hundreds in postage sending packages back and forth to one another.

This Christmas we decided to save our money for next year when we will be together.

Lord, don't get me started on postage, and international shipping! my husband's family all lives in brazil. and in order for their packages not to be stolen you HAVE to mail them airmail only with global priority, which is very costly, and i always say there is nothing but photos and cards inside the boxes, because if i say on the customs forms what is really in the box they charge my husband's family a tax for everything inside the box. so i always put that the value of the items inside the box is $0. that way they pay no tax on it. just a little tip for those who need to know.

It is so frustrating. My mom sent me a piece of her artwork and wrote the value of it on the form.

I almost passed out then they told me how much I had to pay when they held it at the post office. Someone is making some serious money.
