My bank fists horses and screws dogs!!!! I go to get gas today and my card isn't working. Cashier says I need to call the bank because my account is invalid. I call the bank 800#. Rep tells me my account was compromised a few weeks ago so I had been issued a new card, which actually should be arriving any day. Okay....but I wasn't notified about it so how the fuck am I'm supposed to access my money so I can get gas and get home Yes I am going to the bank in person first thing in the morning with my scanned check receipt and addressing this fuckery!! I'm assuming you're using a debit card here. Even if the card itself was compromised your account should still be valid and the deposit accepted and processed under normal federal regulations (Regulation CC). If this is the case, the most inconvenience you should have to suffer is that you would have to go to an actual teller and show ID in order to withdrawl available funds until your new debit card arrives. The card itself is just an a tool, as it were, that one uses to access the available funds and, in and of itself, has no bearing on deposits and the availability of them thereof. As somebody else mentioned, I delt with the EXACT same thing with BofA. Also, they randomly decided to put a stop on my account two years ago in November because they thought there was "suspicious activity" due to an abundance of online shopping. And not just the card, they froze my entire account. Everything. Nothing worked. Bascially, they took MY money hostage. In November. Ya know, the month before CHRISTMAS!! When people do things like, maybe, SHOPPING!!
I had to call and deal with a special branch of the bank where some woman proceeded to ask me literally dozens of questions about where I had spent the money, what sites, what did I puchase, what did it cost, etc? I was FAH-REAKING! OUT! First of all, it's my money. You can't TAKE IT. If I can walk into a branch with ID proving it's me I should be able to do whatever I want with MY money. Second, what, when, where and why I spent my money is none of you damn business! Some of those items were of a personal nature and it sent me SERIOUSLY over the edge. I had my call escalated numerous times and documented the names and conversations I had with each person. I then wrote MANY letters to MANY branches and persons within BofA. I eventually received a letter saying they were reviewing that policy, followed by another one saying I was correct regarding the repeated questions about the items I had purchased. Verifying previously submitted personal information should have been enough to confirm my identity and reinstate access to MY account. ........... | |

Seriously, though, ask for your call to be escalated to a supervisor. Then explain to the supervisor that the time estimate is unacceptable, that if they would like to continue to have your business they'll need to solve the problem in a much more expedient manner. | |
