Jamie Lee Curtis Written Out Of Father's Will

Ted Casablanca, eonline

It was known by many personal friends to Jamie Lee Curtis and her late father , Tony Curtis, that they were not at all close.

Occasionally, Jamie Lee spoke about the rift in interviews. But, now Jamie Lee's really driven the family dysfunction point home, thanks to her appearance today on The Talk . She let drop a few daughter-dearest bombs such as, "He was not a father. He was not interested in being a father."

Wonder if that opinion was formed before or after Curtis became aware she was not included in Tony's will?

According to sources intimately involved in the legal maneuverings of the elder Curtis, who died last month, Jamie Lee was written out of several wills Tony had drafted throughout the latter years of his life.

Man. That's pretty nasty. Wonder what was behind it?

A rep for Curtis said she refused to even ask her client about the will,

as "it's really no one's business."

"They were not close," said source who knew both Curtises. "Ever."

Curtis explained to Joy Behar on last month that her father was just "not around" after her parents divorced when she was three.

The curvy 51-year-old star of Freaky Friday, the Halloween franchise and Beverly Hills Chihuahua, was much tighter with her mother, Janet Leigh, who passed away six years ago.

Jamie Lee defended her tough stance on The Talk:

"[Tony] was very clear. He did what he was supposed to do from a financial standpoint, which was honorable for him to do. Buts he was not an involved father and, therefore, I look at him much more from the perspective of being like all of you: a fan of him."

That much is true. When Curtis spoke at her dad's funeral earlier this month , she joked warmly about him for several minutes, admitting she got her "desperate need for attention" straight from her dad.

Just not his money, apparently.

nod Exactly! Doesn't sound like she's the one making a big deal out of it, the media is.

Hell I'm not close to my deadbeat dad either and he got paper. A few years ago my sister asked me for my SS#. When I asked her, what for, she said my dad was putting me on his insurance and in his will. rolleyes

My response: I gotta wait for that fucka to die to get something, anything, from him??? Tell him to keep that shit. I'm good. talk to the hand

I can relate to Jamie totally. Mine wasn't interested in being a father either. I stopped expecting him to do right when I was 9 years old so why should I be looking for a cut when he kicks the bucket. shrug

I recall an interview a few weeks prior to his death and she spoke very highly of him. She said there was no relationship for a long time, but they had somewhat of one now. She was very teary eyed about her father. Seemed that they were getting close.

I think her not being in a will is not that serious. She has enough. I think this article is fluff. Perhaps his $ is left for charity or something?

Here's a recent clip where she talks about it. Joy is annoying and obviously doesn't do her homework. Jamie has always spoken about the division between her and her dad. So when Joy asked what was it like to be raised by these two people, I cringed. JL is mad cool and broke it down!

Absolutely. I love that she let her hair go all grey, I love that she posed as herself un-airbrushed, and I love her personality. She's really unaffected by Hollywood.

HA!

Joy is talking shit about somebody being "annoying", that is def rich lol and I love how Jamie reached out and touched Joy's hand as if to tell her "tune it down, bitch" lurking

I love Jamie's attitude, period, when I watch interviews by other celebs, my bullshit detector is usually hitting the roof, but it has no activity when she & a handful of others are talking lol not to mention, a great sense of humor.

That's how I see too. Whatever parents do, leave, or give up after the age of 18 is a gift. It's kind and generous if they do but parents don't owe adult children squat.

Do you also think that children shouldn't worry about being responsible for their parents when they get too old to function on their own?

I don't think that anybody owes anyone anything either. We do things out of the kindness of our hearts and for the emotional investement that we may have in that person but we are never obligated and they are never entitled. That being said I don't think Curtis really cares that she was left out of his will. She's a independent grown woman who has been fully capable of caring for her self for some time. Its a good thing.

Well, I can only speak for myself when it comes to parents. My daddy died and left my brother and me very, very generous inheritances. It saved me when I lost my job. My mom is still alive and is getting feeble. She'll be 86 November 3. She lives on her own in a senior citizens' community with all necessities available, but I would not hesitate to quit my job and take care of her if it came to that. It would be a sin not to.

My parents sacrificed their entire lives so that my brother and I could have a fine home, nice clothes and college educations. I have always been aware of that and I have always been thankful. I feel it is my DUTY as a daughter and a sister to look after my parents and my brother if they got sick. My brother isn't married either and doesn't have kids. His biggest fear is dying alone. I tell him all the time, "As long as I'm alive, you'll never be alone. If you get sick, I'll take care of you." Family to me is sacred.

Agreed with all the above (except I didn't know she was married! mad ). Also, she's not going on about all this, she keeps getting asked about it and gracefully answers. Plus, she's not fighting it with infinite lawsuits (that I know of). Which is the normal way of the world these days.

Not to mention that she did one of the best (IMO) strip teases ever in True Lies!! drool Even with the comedic parts. I love when she rips up her dress.

I hate that Tony was so good looking, he was such an awful selfish prick but I totally love him. I like Jamie Lee too and totally feel for her. Its not even about getting the money, its just so offensive on an emotional level not to even be thought of and purposely kicked out.
