So.. i attend the L.A Film school, and we have quite a few kid's who come from money, i personally don't. and some have true vision, some... just have money and sadly our school if you have money you get in no matter what.

I go to class with somebody who's father is a pretty famous guy on T.V and has been since the 80's, i'm not saying who cause it doesn't really matter. But my point is, his son is a little shit! i am not one to speak ill of others but his kid disgusts me so much!, i and a lot of my other friend's there work hard to get our foot in on the industry.

We all have short films we are trying to get green lit and this kid's ideas ARE TERRIBLE, and the teacher's even say so, but he has ton's of money and some idiot is willing to help produce while many of the people in my class, with great vision and ideas are left in the dust. This kid is late every other day to class, but supposedly if you are late twice you fail the class he has been late 8.. and he is still here! This just angers me, He's rude and disrespectful to the teachers, he leaves class early sometimes without explanation... we bust our ass at this school, and this kid is a punk who think's because his father is famous he can get away with anything it is not cool at all. We have had another kid who's mother was in some famous band in the 90's... i never heard of and he acted the same way but he dropped out.

Now not everyone who has famous folks act like this, my friend i met this year, her dad is a record producer in London who is a pretty famous producer But she is quite about it, and is even using HER OWN money to get around i applaud her, she's a wonderful woman.

My main point is, i think it's disgusting that someone who has famous parents take advantage of it sometimes like this, it sickens me... and show's me why so many great artist's in any medium don't get discovered and hack's do...

on your point yea I agree it sucks and it also sucks how at this time in my life the rude pieces of shi& are rolling in dough and the nice kind ones are struggling.

I teach in a school district where there are quite a few famous parents/relatives.

I had a Broadway actress' kid, and he was SUCH A BRAT!

But, there was a rapper's sister who was a wonderful young lady.

Another rapper's nephews- one was nice, the other one was quick to drop his uncle's name.

Hang in there... I'm sure your work is great. Eventually the best will stand out...

Yes, it is rather annoying.... i mean i think it's cool honestly i get to attend school with people of all different kind's of background's. But it does get insane....

& BklynBabe, the teacher's at the school are very chill , and flexible.

The people higher up couldn't care less, there all about MONEY. I mean we have had tons of issues this year, they let in one guy who came right out of mental institution... no kidding. The kid was clearly insane, he was rude, nasty and was very perverted and touchy touchy towards the girls. People in class made SEVERAL complaints about him, he also made very racists and homophobic comments.. but the school basically gave him a slap on the wrist and said behave. It wasn't until he beat up one of the kid's at our school, and that's when they suspended him but told him to come back in the future

For about 2 years, I worked with someone who was the child of a internationally known, relatively controversial and disliked, and very powerful politician. At first I didn't want to have anything to do with this person, but it wasn't the kid's fault the parent was a complete douche. I actually ended up genuinely liking the person. The child never asked for special treatment (even though our boss blantantly kissed this person's ass), did their work, stayed late when they needed to, and actually, towards the end of their time at the job saved my ass when I messed up one of their big projects (on accident I swear!!).

The kid in your film school may use his connections and get to break the rules. Life isn't fair. You should try to get used to that because it never changes. Some people get away with stuff. Some people work their asses off all their lives and don't get a break. The only thing you can control is YOU and your reactions to things.

Money runs the school, dude! It's not going to change either. As long as you have rich people enrolling their children in whatever, they're going to get special treatment. Money talks, bullshit walks. Simple. Is it fair? HELL NO! But that's life, and life ain't fair nor no crystal stair...
