One miner told the group while they were down there..."if we do this right,we'll never have to work again"...

Did u see the list of offers that are lined up for them?!...$400k an interview?!!...book, movie deals...they're automatically getting 10k each for the trouble by the company...
These guys are about to get paid, until they have to pay off all of them mistresses...lol

Can you imagine how weird it must feel to be the last person to come up? You see the second to last person enter the capsule and *poof!* - they're gone, and you're all alone hundreds of meters underground. Even though you know it's only for an hour or so it must be pretty freaky.

True. Probably either terrifying or one of the most peaceful moments of your life.

but the last ones up were rescue workers so they had just been down there a few hours, and the return trip would be about 40 minutes max. (that is from the time the 2nd to last starts until the last was in and on his way up)

And now, the first rescuer down into the mine shaft to rescue the miners is the last person evacuated from the mine! And with his arrival on the surface, this harrowing ordeal has come to a successful and joyous end.

I couldn't watch after the first one too. Boring! I zoomed through the rest. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...... yawn

I think they should've had a different arrival/entrance for each one to make it more entertaining. But then, the Chileans are not known for their razzmatazz. sad

Yeah, for me it would be terrifying since I'm very claustrophobic but I could see how such unique and total solitude could feel peaceful too.

So what? They'd still be all the way down there all alone below massive amounts of rock. shrug

Grab your tinfoil hats...you knew it was coming, lol

33 miners

Rescued on 10-13-10=33

33 days of drilling

The sentences "Estamos bien en el refugio los 33" and "We are fine in the shelter all 33" have 33 characters and spaces.

Rescue shaft diameter is 66 centimeters, which is twice 33.

eek
