The minute Mike C got called 1st (exclaim) I knew she was getting the boot sad

I feel like his was a sympathy vote, like what Tyra does with her awkward girls sometimes, but that said, I knew April wasn't going to make the top 3 anyway because it was kinda obvious from the start that Mondo, Andy & Gretchen have got the finale in the bag.

Before I say this let me say that Mondo has been my favorite (and I hope winner) from the get-go.

I think Michael C was called first because he delivered best on this challenge. His dress was beautiful with Halston-esque simplicity and one could read the connection to the inspiration (challenge).

Mondo's was very close second, but this was not Mondo's best offering so far. It was nice, but not quite as finished and chic (expensive) looking as Michael C's (for this particular challenge).

Anything beyond those two making it in rested on past performance.

If based on this challenge alone Andy would've been fucked, however fierce his lil' dress was. There wasn't a trace of Central Park in that dress. lol

And Gretchen...don't even get me started on that cheap lookin get up she put together. eek I'm not a fan, but that was surprising even for her. She does need to stick to that hippie chick stuff because if that's what she thinks is urban or lower east side...faint

When Christian referrenced the 8th Ave vendors and Kors called it mid-town...they really just wanted to say Bridge & Tunnel. lol

Seriously... are you effin' SERIOUS!!! STOP.READING.MY.MIND!!!

I swear, when we meet... disbelief

as much as I don't want to like mondo, he use of patterns and colors have been unique and tasteful. I like andy's personality but I don't think he's as creative as mundo. that being said, i think mundo's going to win the whole shebang.

That Michael C shit was so sad because that was some shit that all of a sudden stopped having anything to do with the competition and had everything to do with some fuckin assholish parents and a kid who just wants their love and acceptance. cry

He wrote himself out of the competition by making everything one color. Shame. That gown was lovely.

Sure you will, there's like how many months of reruns? lol

I'm willing to bet this whole week they'll play all of this season, leading up to next week's finale.

They hardly ever rerun them. I've been checking every weekend and no soap. And the OnDemand has been very spotty, too. They have some weeks, but not others. I still haven't seen the Jackie O episode. pout

Oh wow, wtf. I thought for sure they ran em all the time. I usually have a few reruns that end up on my dvr. and before each week's episode they play one or two prior. Wonder if that's just a regional (local station) thing.

The most important thing you need to take from the Jackie O episode is:

Oh, sure - they play one or two before the new show. But I need a friggin' marathon, at this point.

I was banking on every episode being OnDemand - which they should be.

Okay, I saw the first half of the finale. (I actually taped it when it was on late Saturday night.)

Mondo is the new Emanuel Ungaro. Seriously. The way he mixes prints is just amazing. I love it, love it, love it. touched

Gretchen...meh. What is with all that boho clothing? It isn't original and it isn't flattering. Take that crunchy shit and hit the (dirt) road. disbelief

Andy...how come nobody mentioned that his green skirt was so stiff you could see the model's hooha when she walked? whofarted She even pulled it down on the runway, for cryeye.

Michael C. Poor Michael. I saw a blogger refer to his collection as "bordello lampshades." That pretty much sums it up.

I am so upset I'm not watching for a long time. mad I did this once before when that cheating asshole Jeffrey Sebelia won. Didn't watch for a year.

Gretchen had nowhere near the technical skill or the level of fashion sense of either Andy or Mondo. The judges are always talking about how the clothes should flatter the figure and Gretchen's definitely did not. There is no way in hell she should have won this. They really dropped the ball on this one. Well, Michael and Nina did. I'm selling my Micheal Kors shoes. mad

Oh well... shrug one less show to watch for a while. Maybe I'll start watcing the other one with Iman. hmmm

Of course I would've wanted Mondo. It's all about Mondo.

...but, I'm surprisingly enough...not mad. I think Gretchen absorbed the critiques and delivered. She's not my personal aesthetic of choice, but she classed up most of her pieces. They did come off a lot richer on this final show. ANNNNNNND her shit will sell...guaranteed. For every Mondo girl, there's 10 bitches who need a Gretchen Jones outfit to hide the fact she hasn't shaved her legs for 2 months.

First falloff

Then...the fact that her stuff had to be classed 'up' shows how dull they were. Any of Andy's or Mondo's pieces could have been worn with no little hats, big steel necklaces, or other accessories and STILL been outstanding. Gretchen was so blah to me. It was Heidi's show and her decision to go with Mondo should have been final. hmph!

You couldn't send Michael C home on the same-color issue then give the grand prize to another 2-tone collection. It HAD to be between Gretchen and Mondo.

I did say that Andy screwed up using only two colors. But I remember all Andy's designs. I couldn't tell you right now what the hell Gretchen made except those horrid short-shorts and the ugly shoes her models wore.

I don't get why people are throwin a hissy fit and screamin I'm not gonna watch again fit

This isn't a call-in-your-vote show lol
Results are not always gonna go the way we want them. And when they do, there's a whole other segment that will be bitchin about how their favorite was robbed. It is what it is.

I repeat, might not be my personal taste, but I do believe that there's a LOT of women out there who would buy a number of the things that Gretchen made. A lot of people will buy bored over exciting FASHION. A lot. hrmph

I liked Gretchen's runway show. I thought her clothes were the best of the three. She is where fashion is going.
