Muscle toning sneakers

I just bought some today at Payless and I plan to start walking amd getting back to the gym. I can tell by recent pics that I need to get my exercise hustle on. I gained 25 lb in less than a year and it's all settled in my waist sad Unacceptable!

Anyone else rocking (literally) these types of sneaks?

I asked my podiatrist about them (you know I have that once-a-month appt. to keep the shoe game tight with pretty feet! biggrin)

He said they are not good for you. They have had quite a few people in their office with sore ankles and shin splints after wearing them for a while. eek

I don't know if they work or not, but I think they are not nearly as important as just being more active.

And I am pretty suspicious of them. It seems odd to have this uneven surface below you. Better to stand on a step occasionally and to some toe dips & toe lifts

Well, I will say that they are quite soft and comfortable, and they were on sale at Payless, so I ain't mad. I needed new sneakers anyway.

You can bet they were born with them nice asses, too! I used to wear Dr. Scholl's sandals back in the day thinking they were gonna make my legs bigger. NOT! I've heard the same thing Chocolate1 has, that those claims are false about the shoes being beneficial. But if you're happy with them and they aren't causing you any problems, wear them bitches and get your money's worth, chile! lol

Weird, because I get less shin splints now that I DO wear them.

I love the Reebok Easy Tones, I noticed a difference the first time I wore them. You eventually get used to them, but they do make walking more of a workout.

I just got the Reebok Run Tones and I'm in love with them. They are very comfortable and supportive. Again, no shin splints and normally I get them with regular sneakers.

My doctor's wife had pair, and he said he told her not to buy them. He said one day he found them in the back of the closet. She confessed that they hurt her legs, but she didn't want to hear, "I told you so." lol

I like the MBTs. I don't wear them all the time but I do feel like I've gotten a workout just by walking in them for 15 minutes.

I just bought a pair (Sketchers) and wore them today for the first time. I love 'em! I can tell they make me stand straighter and change my gait. They are very comfortable, too.
