absolutely

even if all you're successful at

is not being deceitful, greedy and conniving

you've accomplished something biggrin

somebody once told me that

success isn't always about the things you do

but about the type of person you are

I think there's some truth to that

never underestimate the power of being a decent person

How is it you feel?

Totally and for inspiration I look to Warren Buffet. Not only is he the greatest investor who ever lived he's also the most philanthropic.

When he passes away he's donating 83% of his $47 billion dollar fortune to the Bill Gates Foundation.

I guess it is possible. However, if you're not one of the greedy, crooked ones there's a high chance that you are neglecting yourself and your loved ones due to putting so much into your career. This is what I've seen happening in my family and circle of friends. It's also quite likely that even if you wouldn't be considered greedy and deceitful yourself you may be working for a company or organization that is nevertheless run on such values.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

(1803-1882)

Success

To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch
or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier
because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

If you want to be successful in societys terms then you may have to be greedy and deceitful. Maybe we need a new definition of what being successful means. To me being successful is when you are totally true to yourself.

That would depend on your definition of "successful".

I think Garry Shandling put it best, when he said, "Nice guys finish first. If you don't know that, then you don't know where the finish line is."

Usually, they're only lying about how much was earned vs. how much was handed to them through family connections.
