Why do exes who have done you wrong while you were in a relationship with them tend to slowly crawl back? I don't get it. You had your chance already. In fact you had 3 chances and you blew them all. You just couldn't get yourself together. Now I'm happy with a guy who treats me right. It's not my fault that you got with some chick soon after I broke up with you and your dumb ass knocked her up, not once but twice, and now she's putting you through hell with baby mama drama and child support. That's your problem now. So no, I don't want to have lunch with you, no I don't want to go back down memory lane. The past is the past and I've moved on...without you.
Thanks for letting me vent. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Okay, so...back in August, a guy I used to work with, who went to work at another local company, called me about a job there. Let me say again - he called me.
So, I took time off from my current job - not once, but twice - to meet with him about it. (He's the copy director there, the job in question would have been a direct report to him.) The second time was a full round of interviews - for which I re-arranged my schedule and took a full day of vacation. It was also the same week that I had surgery on my mouth - so I went in and talked for several hours, even though I was stitched in three places and doing so was very painful.
He contacted me the next week to let me know that they were interviewing "a few more people" (that was my first WTF moment), so I might not hear anything for awhile. Fast forward to this week. I got an email from him on Monday, letting me know they'd hire someone else. Okay...fine...whatever. I saw the handwriting on that wall the second he mentioned the other interviews. (I figured they were after someone less expensive.)
But it was the way he put it: You'll receive an official letter from our HR department, but I thought a personal note was appropriate in your case.
A personal note was "appropriate?" Dude - you recruited me, hustled me in there for an interview like I was the second coming, then left me hanging for a month. You owed me a fucking phone call, at least - you crapweasel.
I should have known. He was a jerk then. (A total loser who tried to date every single woman in the company.) Leopards do not change their spots. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

So you felt you were guarateed the job since he already knew you and asked you to interview? [Edited 10/7/10 10:41am] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Not at all. But I certainly think he owed me a phone call, given the past relationship and the fact that I wouldn't have even applied for the job, had he not made it sound like a sure bet.
But, hey - it was far better to know he's still chickenshit before I made the mistake of jumping ship. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
