When is the Brooklyn arena going to be completed? Because any big name playing in NJ where no one will see him is a waste of time.

I'm not weeping at all the Net's or whoever can have him; I'm glad the Bulls weren't willing to give up Noah for him.

Bull mgmt is not 2 bright. If they had a real GM, they could get Anthony and keep Noah. The Nuggets are in a weak bargaining position and every team in the league, except Chicago knows it.

I think a few things about it...

First, why? I mean, from Melo's standpoint. It doesn't seem like things were that bad in Denver, or that they couldn't get better. They've been a more than solid team the last couple years, though. If he signed the extension and the acquired another couple pieces to the puzzle there is no telling where they could have gone.

Second, cash grab much? lol I mean, sure - they're going to move to Brooklyn (in two years, I believe) and Jay-Z is a minority owner. But really, not THAT cool. What is cool is a Russian BILLIONAIRE owner who will be willing to keep giving you max contracts for years to come.

Third, sad for the Denver, Nuggets. They have a long history of having good players that they ALMOST achieved something with... but not quite.

Fourth... yeah, fourth. lol The Nets are NOT going to be a very good team. Not at the start of the season, at least. Having Melo on the team may make it easier for them to pick up a few players before the deadline. But there's no guarantee on chemistry if that's the case. Then there's a possibility of a partial or full lockout season. So in reality there may not be a visible return on this trade for quite some time.

Last, kind of hard to believe that the Bull's wouldn't pull the trigger on this one. The Nets apparently have no problem letting Devin Harris go. And even average point guards are a lot harder to come by these days than a Joakim Noah.

I gotta disagree with you. Carmelo knows he will not win a championship with the Nuggets, especially with the currently lineup. Billups is too old and they do not have anybody else that can bring up the ball. Going to the Nets, will give them a chance to rebuilt the team around a competent marqee player, hopefully, luring more players of his caliber to the team. Sure it might take a year or two, but the fact of the matter is, they as well as the Knicks, are in a rebuilding stage, to go forward, whereas the Nuggets need to rebuild to survive.

I don't see any difference between the Nuggets and the Nets/Knicks in this regard. In fact, the Nuggets have been a playoff team in the ultra-competitive Western conference. They haven't done much there, no argument against that. But rebuilding is rebuilding is rebuilding. I still think there's either something going on in Denver that we don't know about or Melo went for the money grab. That's his right, though. I'm not hatin'. I just don't get how the situation with the Nets is better than Denver.

They were just discussing this on PTI and said (paraphrasing), "They must have been waiting until Rasheed had left to institute this rule". lol

I don't really have a problem with this. Players need to shut up and play. They know they committed those fouls 90% of the time when they're complaining, anyway. Leave the refs alone and concentrate on playing better basketball. The only problem I can see is if somebody wins a game by a point or two where a couple of these Ts have been called. That will, of course, be all the talk for a few days afterwords. Doesn't matter. I remember the days when every player didn't run up to a ref to "talk" about every foul call. The game was more fun to watch like that. Act like a man, not a child. You committed the foul now deal with it. Players will adjust to the new rules and it will make the game better (imo, of course).

Along with Noah, to make the contracts match, the Bulls also want to send Deng to Denver and it's my understanding Denver wanted a couple of draft picks. Rose/Melo/Boozer with no center and no rebounding wouldn't scare anyone.
