I've never seen Damon when he was on SNL back in 1985. John Lovitz, Dennis Miller and the special guest host Jay Leno also in the sketch.

He was fired the next episode.

I think the last SNL episode to feature Damon was one that Madonna hosted (I could be wrong). Damon was supposed to play a 'straight' police officer but either wore flamboyant clothes or spoke in his “hated it!” movie reviewer voice (or both?) and just started ad-libbing through the sketch. I think I remember reading about this once. Or I could have dreamt it.

True. I guess there was no hard feeling, the final episode of the season, he came back to do 25 minutes of stand-up and nine years later, hosted the show.
