I am very thankful that he is alright,and has no injuries. He was getting ready to drive across an intersection,had looked both ways,and saw nobody coming,and started crossing,he said he was halfway across the intersection when this lady appeared,and he could'nt stop,and nailed the side of her truck. He is just beside himself.

i'm glad he's ok. accidents happen...but pay a bit more attention people. glad all parties are ok.

Moni- The other driver at the scene was saying that she could'nt move her neck,and was taken to the hospital to be checked out,and was fine.

I'm glad everybody involved is okay, so I suppose now the only question is who will be found to be at fault? In Sweden it's usually pretty clear cut because the driver coming from the right always has right of way, but in the US I don't think you have any such rule?

I am really hoping that they do not find him at fault,and I really don't believe he was. I am not just saying that because he's my Dad,but I have rode with him many times,and he is a very good driver.

Today the insurance adjuster went,and looked at it,and so far they are quoting him $4,000.00 to have it fixed,but it could be more.They have even suggested that he just get another truck,but he is retired,and does not have the money to be buying a new vehicle.

It's a real mess.

This is what he is being told. They are quoting him $4,000.00-$6,000.00 to repair. He bought the truck used for almost $9,000.00,and that was almost three years ago,so they are suggesting that he just buy another truck instead of repairing the one he has. Trouble is,finding a truck like the one he had at a price he can afford is proving to be difficult.
