Has anyone here seen "Devil"? Was it any good? We're trying to decide on a movie to see tonight and that one looked good in previews.
But then again, I thought "The Expendables" was a can't-miss movie.
So, tell me about "Devil"!

M Night Shyamalan = a big giant no for me for a good long while. I know dude had basically nothing to do with it, but that doesn't matter. The studio put his name on it, so they loose.

Someone on Yahoo wrote "This elevator is going down like M. Night's career!" and I had to laugh.

Go see "The Town" | |

That's looking like the favorite. I wonder if it's better than "Takers"? Two bank robber movies out in the same weekend.

Have you seen 'Gone Baby, Gone'? Ben directed that one as well. Plus, dude knows South Boston. My vote would be for 'The Town'.

Lisa Lampanelli said that Pamela Anderson's twat is like an M.Night Shaymalan movie, 10 years ago everyone was dying to see it but today they just walk out asking, "what the fuck was that?" Yeah, I love taking my daughter to movies, but that is one I was glad didn't come out while she was here. Looked rather atrocious.

whatever you do, don't bother with Pokemon: Arceous or as my kids call it Arse-ious
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I don't know if that even came out in theaters here. I wouldn't go to any Pokemon movies regardless. You're more dedicated than I am. I'd let her watch scary movies with me before I sat through one of those.

From the first scene I was like, "oh oh...this is gonna be a rough 85 minutes".

I'm gonna watch it.
Don't know why there's a crusade against M Night Shyamalan, people are so fickle.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Not fickle at all. His movies have made a steady decline from his first to his last. The Happening is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Lady In The Water is not much better. The Village has one of the worst "surprise", "trick", whatever, endings I've ever seen. Not to mention the fact that it's really not very well made and the acting is attrocious (something that continued with Lady and Happening, that's HIS directing). Signs is good, but the Shyamalan ending syndrome was already wearing thin. Unbreakable is great - an all-time favorite for me. And the fact that Sixth Sense is re-watchable even though you know exactly what's going on speaks volumes regarding what a great film that is.
The Last Airbender, the first thing he's directed that was not his own original story was supposed to be a comeback of sorts... and it STAAAAANK! Nope. Dude has got a lot of work to do to make me care about anything he puts out. So putting his name in front of a film where his credits are "story" and "producer" isn't going to cut it for me. That's just the studio having him do story touch-ups so they can slap his name on a lower budget film in hopes of making a bigger profit.

I'm going to see it tonight, really like the story and the trailer....hope it's really scary, it's going to be the first horror movie i see in the cinema.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Yeah, usually animated films have at least one or two humorous scenes in the trailer. Nothing in that trailer resembled comedy. It just looked cheesy as hell.
