Another movie that left me with a similar feeling which I mentioned in the movie thread is Oldboy, a Korean film. Sort of leaves feeling like what the fuck did I just watch. Which isn't to say it's a bad movie.

Understandable, I feel that way about a lot of movies myself when they get too much hype. Boondock Saints comes to mind.
There was this other movie I remember watching about this class of kids that were all delinquents, and they think that they are going on a field trip but really they are taken out to an island or something and are told that they will be hunted. They are each given a bag with some sort of weapon - some of the weapons were useless. The last kid standing wins. So along the way they start killing each other to ensure they are the winner.
I can't remember the name, it's driving me nuts. I also can't remember what country it was from...maybe Japan...? I'm a little fuzzy because I'm pretty sure I was drunk when I watched it.

Me too, Ichi was the very first movie I watched of this type of movie. This boy is into all those fucked up movies.
Great minds. Battle Royale is pretty nasty. You should definitely see that one as well. It's up there with all these talked about Asian Cinema movies we've been discussing.
I'll check it out too. I still have to watch the first movie by the guy that made Oldboy (told myself I would watch all three of his revenge flicks). The subtitles are messed up on netflix though.

And btw, did your grandmother ever try to teach you any words in Danish?
The pronounciation is so different from the way it's written, it's crazy. I learned Danish for 7 years in school and I'd still have a problem making myself understandable in Danish to a local in Denmark.

She hasn't taught me any words. I'm not sure how much she knows. She was born here in the states, but her parents were Danish immigrants. I'll have to ask her a bit about it next time I see her. I used to know more about her lineage, like what they did back in Denmark for a living and all that, but I don't remember.
Denmark is an awesome country, I holiday there alot (they have great beach houses). You should be sure to visit there once in your lifetime!

Oddly enough, the day before all this Viking talk I was looking at ticket prices to fly over there. I was checking them again last night. I think I may try to go over there for 4-5 days, sometime in the near future.
