DIFFERENT CAREER

Well I am about to train as a Teacher's Assistant (too late for me to graduate being a teacher). I am giving up Law and want to spent the rest of my working life (15 years) doing something I want to do. As I love children and have two small ones myself this ticks all the boxes.

Have you ever thought about a career change or even actually done it? Do you regret your decision or think it was the best thing ever...

what do you think?

I did just the opposite of you. I thought I wanted to teach, trained to be a teacher and then did my student teaching. NOT!!! Started working in hospital residency administration instead.

I jumped out of a career hoping for a change.....still working on getting my chance. That was 2006 when I jumped. I dabble a little in what I used to do. Even convinced myself that I no longer wanted it. But I guess I need to keep trying. It's so all who you know, I know no one.

But now that the awful job that I found myself stuck in is closing down. My job is being eliminated and I'm elated. Now I have a severance and options to hold me over as I continue to look.

But I have a back up plan too....

God Love ya.

I've always said being a teacher is a perfect career for a mother. Yanno, same hours as the kiddies.

Then I remember there are a bunch of KIDS involoved in the job.

Good luck with the career change though!

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

It takes guts to change your career - it involves a whole lot more study and another way of life. The money drops (dramatically) but like my husband said - you only live once!

I need to do this for my sanity! I am so fed up with office politics and people little "sensitive" ways - fek that shit just don't need it anymore. I've started to shout back at work so I know its time to leave before I turn into an axe murderer!!

I am fed up with wishing for a change now I am doing the change - its exciting and I am nervous but I'm gonna do it!

I would like to write cookbooks.

I also would like to take randomsummer jobs doing things I would find adventurous, like working on a vineyard or olive grove, learning about the land and how to harvest love
