I don't have a video to post, but before I go to bed, I'll share! biggrin

My summer was "eh", but not necessarily bad:

- I worked in Summer School until July 30th

- My on again/off again and I were "off" all summer. pout

- I saw 4 concerts. dancing jig

And went to a NY METS game. They lost. neutral

Most of the season. mad

- I saw a cool off-Broadway play

- And right before I went back to work, I bought a new car! mushy

Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

No.

But a combination of craziness at home, at work, and a limited amount of funds squashed our plans.

It went by so fast that I'm still in "summer mode".

Despite the wonderfully hot weather in July it was probably the most boring summer I´ve ever had in my life due to an injury and the recovery time and physiotherapy sessions and some drastic changes regarding my job. August was awfully cold and rainy and I didn´t travel as much as I used to.

All in all, a very boring summer. I still can´t believe that summer is supposed to be over. I don´t want to accept that and I´m already thinking about ways to expand my summer.

Couldn´t travel, couldn´t spend any time in the gym to build up the best physique of my life ( used to lift incredible weights in the past and had to start with two lbs again sad )....couldn´t even ride my new beach cruiser bikes....all in all, three months wasted time. And on top of all that, some things that are happening over here made me seriously question whether this is really the place where I want to live.

But.....we should always be thankful for what we´ve got, get up and get ourselves together again and hit back with a vengeance and smile brighter than before.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I dunno where the summer went.

June: Um, I can't remember much of June. I wasn't pregnant yet. Well that I was aware of. So I'm kinda unaware of what happened in June.

Ohhh, went to amusement parks with the kids. Spent a weekend in MD. Shopped. Me and my boyfrind were going on lots of dates and getting to know eachother at this time. Very cute and fun.

July: Found out I was pregnant. Slept all month. Went to see Dave Matthews.

O yanno what, I think my divorce was finalized in JUNE as well.....or was it may?? anyways..... I slept thru July. and got the kids a really kick ass slip and slide.

August: Went to the shore for a week. Did lotsa picnics and stuff like that. Water parks. Nothing outta the ordinary. Slept a lot.

I've reached in darkness and come out with treasure
I layed down with love and I woke up with lies
Whats it all worth only the heart can measure
It's not whats in the mirror but what's left inside

Summer was sooooooooo busy but it was with fun stuff. We had 4 weddings to go to, 2 of them included rehearsal dinners and all that. Went to upstate NY for a weekend in the Catskill Mountains...gorgeous! Went to Western Mass (Museum of Contemporary Arts) to work the Wilco Solid Sound Festival printing posters and doing a demo. Saw Mavis Staples...amazing! GOT A DOGGIE!!!!! Saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Spent a week in Kennebunkport ME with all the rich people and tried to get to the beach and on my dad's boat as much as possible.

I'm glad everything is winding down, looking forward to weekend hikes and Sunday football!

...Speaking of which:

I have a friend's wedding at end of Oct. We used to be very close. Never had a falling out, but only really started hanging again a few months ago.

What is an appropriate wedding gift? She's 37, first marriage (has a daughter by another dude), he's mid-40's.

I always give $100. Whether I go alone, or with a date.

I think that the proper ettiquette is to AT LEAST cover your plates, then add whatever.

If you go by yourself, $100 sounds right. If you take a significant other, kids, etc, then start adding $$$.

Well a plate doesn't cost $100 for one person...I mean unless you're getting lobster tails and filet mignon!

I think $100 is sufficient for a couple.

I took my daughter camping and to play laser tag for her birthday. Took her to Hershey Park, fishing, whale watching...and a bunch of other stuff before she left in August. Sort of a bittersweet summer.
