Why do i feel guilty, its only Mcdonalds

I just ate a Mcdonald's there and i feel mega guilty about it for some reason. I never buy Mcd's and never really bothered about it, especially after watching the documentary film on the guy living on nothin but golden arches for a month. I live in Japan right now, and a friend suggested i try it here as it is apparently waaaay better than Mcdonalds in any other country.

Sure enough, i went for the double cheeseburger meal, and my Japanese is still pretty poor so i ended up with a coffee instead of a coke which i thought i had ordered, AAaaanyway, that aside. The fries were not bad i must say. They actually looked and were presented almost exactly as they appeared on the big picture above the counters. The cheeseburger, likewise was impressive by anyones standards. They went a bit crazy with the ketchup, but hey they are all bout sauce over here. The met on the burger was really nice, and the meal as a whole went down fine(including the coffee, which i never drink usually)

Now i feel guilty about eating it, i dunno why. Does anyone here rate Mcd's and is there anyone who is dead against it?

Don't feel guilty. One greasy meal never hurt anyone. I don't eat it very often, but every once in a while it is fine to indulge biggrin

I could definitely live without them, but I don't go ballistic every time someone says they love McDonalds. Some people feel the need to go on a crusade about unhealthy the food is, criticizing McDonalds fans. I'm pretty sure customers are well aware of what they are eating. Everyone's got a vice, be it McDonalds or cigarettes. I admit though.....those new smoothies look kinda tasty. Smoothies are generally good for you. Not sure if they found a way to fatten theirs up or not. If the stats are off, then I'm better off sticking to the ones I make at home with Greek yogurt. They're really refreshing during the summer on hot days.

Regular coffee? How so? I mean, one of their blended drinks - sheeeeyooo! Those are bad. But regular coffee actually has some health benefits if you drink it in moderation. .... which I don't do. lol

enjoy your mcdonlds dont feel guilty- every thing is relative- a small frie has the same fat as one cup of 2% milk. your cheeseburger is just fine- it has 50% less fat than a GRILLED chicken sandwhich and less sodium too. Enjoy- it's not even an indulgence. Some people cook way worse than that at home- deep frying their breakfast sausage and adding fat back to every vegetable. You know your body and your limitations- DONT FEEL GUILTY over a sandwhich and fried potatos!!

LOVE HARD.

You need to feel a little guilty that you NEVER went to McDonalds during the 1970's & 1980's, when the food (especially french flies) tasted better.

Not to mention that the apple pie was far more bad ass than the crap that it is today.

Well i am comingup for 29 so i did go in the 80's when i was a youngster. You don't see much of the clown guy anymore, they seem to be fizzling him out of their promotional campaigns.

I still go to McDonald's for breakfast and maybe a smoothie or shake, but since I read about what they put in the hamburger meat on New Year's Day, I won't ever touch their burgers again.

Haven't eaten at any fast food joint for a year now... I feel great, I hate the ways these huge corps sell really unhealthy crap but they still sponsor the Olympics or football etc.. Its really sending a confusing message to kids.

A friend of mine wanted to go there here in Canada and before we even ordered, my friend was doing an impression of me "oh I can't believe we're eating here rolleyes "

evillol I didn't realize I had been such a bitch about it before, but I am not one to hold my opinion with close friends.

After we left, I said "yeah, it's nice slumming it at Mickey D's sometimes", which somehow reinstated my superiority even though I just ate a Quarter Pounder. lol

I know it's psychological like drinking wine out of a glass rather than a plastic cup, but I think McDonald's sandwiches tasted better when they came in the styrofoam containers.

I don't doubt it. I only used the Filet o'Fish picture because it was the first one I found in the styrofoam container. Actually I think the whole stryofoam container applies mostly to their breakfast sandwiches in my mind.

Well it seams the general consensus is that McD's is ok for an occasional hit of junk food. But is there anyone on either side of the extreme spectrum. Ie does anyone frequent M more than twice a week? Also that map of USA with the plotted restaurants is scary, especially once you factor in all the other junk like KFC, BK, Wendy's(which we don't get in the uk) Actually is Wendy's any good???

someone said that all Mcd's are just as bad as the next one, but is that an accurate assessment? I know that BK in Glasgow sources alot of its beef from Aberdeen. In fact they call it "Aberdeen Angus burger". No i don't doubt there are additives but my point is that the meat quality itself must be relative to the location of the M

The interior of the "restaurants" in Australia are much nicer than in USA, but the "food" is much the same most likely

Mcd's interiors vary in the USA-from standard fast food interior-to upscale interiors that make starbucks look cheap. But I just love me some McDonald's fries.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
