Did Anyone NOT Upgrade to Apple iOS 4? I choose not too because I'm a scaredy cat.
I've heard of too many horror stories and I don't think Apple's has figured out what's wrong. . . bugs. This looks like Apples version of the "Vista fiasco". For now, my iTouch stays with iOS 3.

Which Touch do you have? I have a 3GS and 4 (well, technically, now 4.0.1) works like a charm on it.
Just waitin' for the white iPhone 4 to hit the shelves!

I didn't upgrade. Oh, and I don't have an iPhone.

I'm having problems with my iPod nano and iTunes 9.2.1 "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Really? I've never had a problem with iTunes. I've had my nano lock up before, but all was well with a hard reset. Which nano do you have?

nano 4th generation. After i downloaded 9.2.1, I'll hook up my ipod but when i try to add music it says "iPod cannot be synced. A duplicate file name has been specified" "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I did not upgrade my iPhone 3G to i4. I was scared about reports that it would slow down.

It may be that he's on a PC. Once in a while your profile will corrupt in Windows XP/vista (I don't know about 7), and no matter what you do, iTunes will not sink correctly with the iPod. I had to actually create a new profile (deleting the .001 , .002 hive files didn't work) once to get it to work properly.
Doesn't happen on a mac. I would blame MS for this, but they don't have the same problem syncing Zunes---I would think Apple could do a better job figuring this problem out.
I love my mac.

Hmmm. I have the 3rd generation, but I've never seen that message. After a quick search, it looks like the iPhone is having a similar issue. Unfortunately, just about everything I've seen addresses how to fix it on the phone and not the iPod. Have you tried to contact Apple?

I thought that was just me. I get the same message, too.

I haven't upgraded to 9.2.1 yet. Sounds like maybe I should hold off.......

I called Apple and the guy told me to delete all Apple/iTunes related software and then reinstall, so I just did that. Hopefully it'll work this time "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Yup upgraded then had to go back to the original OS. iOS 4 on a 3g iphone is a NO GO!

How do I create a new profile? Yeah I'm on a PC "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

I have a 3gs, I upgraded and haven't really had any problems. The only thing I noticed that if I don't close my apps (by double clicking on the home button and then closing them from that toolbar thing) my battery goes rather quickly. The first wekend I had issues with connecting to networks but seems to be fine now.

2nd generation
I don't see the need if all I'm getting are home screen folders & unified inbox and threading for mail. Plus, I've heard of other having issue with WiFi issues, connecting to the itunes and draining the battery quickly. Something tells me to leave will enough alone. I have 1 app that won't work ( Slow Music down) because it only works with iOS4.
I'm waiting and hoping iTouch comes with a damn camara and/or a restyling, it's time.
