I am jealous of the shrimp! Nice mix.
I have killed many fish myself.. I also have a freshwater tank. frogs ((kids made me) Hillside Loach, Kohli loaches, Ember tetras and a mean Pigmy puffer that behaves.
I used to have two Lace catfish that grew to 8 inches each... they ate everything in the tank. I am rebuilding my community now. I love loaches too! Damn snails

Hey my friend
One of your favorite songs is Jeff Buckley's Last Goodbye so you've already earned a permanent spot in my "I must try to watch his posts more often" file.
And believe you me, that file is really important in grand scheme of life.
Oh yeah - sorry I'm supposed to ask a question.
You mentioned you're still a massive tool, I mean, fan of the NBA and you're about 40 years old. I grew up in Boston and lived on the Celtics Lakers rivarly. You still think the NBA has a lot to offer today?
In this day of free agency my interest in sports becomes lower and lower each year and the NBA in particular has more things worng with it than right. Please explain how you could possibly subscribe to the NBA package after all this time?

My son has a 10 freshwater tank. Currently, it contains one platy fry and two adult platies females who are not the mother(She died in birth). I wonder if the fry gets enought to eat, because he/she stays clear of the adults. I fed the ladies first, then give the baby finely slivered blood worm and crushed goldfish flakes. Any suggestions? Thanks for the kind words! I love my shramp! I usually pick up a few ghost shrimp on any trip to the fish/pet store, too. The females naturally die after they lay their eggs and the males don't last a whole hell of a lot longer unless they have great hiding spaces (I have one right now whose made it a couple months). But while they're in the tank they're GREAT cleaners. I've wanted to get some different large size shrimp for a long time but I'm afraid to upset the balance of Mr Bamboo's world. They're normally very temperamental and he seems quite happy.
Had African Dwarf Jumpers - they're one of my all time favorite fresh water critters. But I have a tall tank right now and the fish were eating their worms before they got to the bottom. The frogs weren't eating enough and then one day one of them wasn't swimming anymore. I returned the other one.
I forgot I also have a Dojo Loach (also know as Weather Loach)! Star of the tank that guy. Looks more like an eel than a regular loach. And he's got this awsome habbit of stopping his mad swimming sessions high up in the middle of a plant. So there's this six inch long whiskered eel looking thing just hangin' out two feet off the rocks, watching the sharks swim by. I also love Kohli's, but everytime I've had them they disappear under things and I never see them.
I've always wanted Pigmy Puffer! It may be the fish I most want to give a try. Unfortunately they aren't always nice, so I can't risk it. Had three Bumblebee Gobies that were AWESOME! They looked so tiny in my tank, but they'd still swim around in their jerky little motion with their buttom lip stuck out, land on a rock or piece of wood and just dare the other fish to swim by. You could even see their eyes following the other fish. Unfortunately after about six months all three of them got the weirdest hairy algae looking growth on their faces and died after just a couple days. None of the other fish were affected at all. *shrug*
Had to look up Lace Catfish. Those things are cool. Seen them at the fish store but never brought any home because of the size issue. I try to be concious of not getting fish that will outgrow my tank. I'm probably going to have to take the Balas back at some point, but thankfully they're slow growers.

I was geeking out and writing about fish. Don't let Miss V get you too excited. I don't think I'm anything more than barely average. And I swear to you I have no current pics available and no pics online at all. But I have some saved on my PC, so I may get adventerous and upload them later just so I can send you an orgnote. I'll try to get a friend to take some current pics sometime soon. If I do I'll send 'em to you and V.

So long as the fry eats some fish flakes that have been crushed to a fine powder they'll be fine. It would be better if they were tropical fish flakes, but I'm sure it will make it by on just goldfish flakes. That group of live breaders (guppies, platies, mollies) are pretty dang hardy. Does it have anything near the surface of the water it can hide in? If not, do you have any plastic plants that pull apart? If you do, yank a piece off and let it float on the top of the water so the fry can hide.

Jeff Buckley is definitely a friend tester for me, as well. I'm a fan of everything the guy ever recorded. It's not all great, but it's all we've got.
I believe wholeheartedly that the NBA is actually stronger than it's ever been right now as far as talent goes. I can't remember a time when there were so many highly skilled players spread out amongst so many teams. Yes, there are still eternal bottom dwellers, my Warriors are one of them. And it's still, seemingly, the same few teams at or near the top. But the middle ground is much more solid than it has been at any time in my basketball watching life (which started the year Jordan entered the league). I also believe there is more talent from team to team than there used to be as well. A lot of people don't seem to remember that in the past most teams only had one or two good players and may not have any great ones. These days most teams have a bench player or two that could be a starter if they were needed.
Are there things wrong with the league? Yes. The players are spoiled, overpayed brats. They complain WAY too much about fouls. And a few of them don't play as hard as they should all the time. But hey, it's a long season. And if they can't see the difference in the results of the teams who play hard all the time and the teams who don't then they deserve to be on losing teams (and most of them are). I will say, though, that if there is a lockout next season I'll have some serious problems coming back to the league. The only reason any teams are losing money right now is because of the way the collective bargaining agreement currently structures contracts (particularly max contracts). The players and the players union are going to have to acquiesce to the owners and the leagues needs to restructure that portion of the CBA. If they can through that without a work stoppage, cool. If they can't, I'm going to be most put out.
How can I get the Legue Pass package after all this time? I freakin' LOVE basketball. I will happilly watch the worst two teams in the league play any time. During the season I watch pieces of every game each night as they move across from the East to West Coast. If the Warriors or Lakers are playing I may end up watching those complete games. But sometimes I record them and watch them after all the other good games have ended. I just love basketball, man. I love knowing what players are on each team and what kind of season they're having. And if I miss something special it bums me out.
Somewhat in my own defense, though, basketball is my only sport. I follow football a little (die-hard 49ers fan). But I'm not passionate about it like I am basketball. Other than that I pretty much ignore sports. ...oh.. I like golf, too.

No, no. I get oogly googly nerves... well... it's hard to explain. I'm incognito. DL. I have a real name, but I'm Cerebus. So, I don't know. I LOVE discussing all kinds of stuff. Makes me quite happy, actually. But I'm usually doing it in other peoples threads. I just got a bit of the oogly googlies because my name is all up in the thread title n' stuff.

I loved my lace catfish until they ate one of the puffers. Everything I read online said what the petstore employees told me... "Lace catfish only grow to 3" .... yeah right. I woke up one morning, rushed out the house... forgot to feed them and came home to find 4 half eaten fish.
lace catfish are also called "Upsidedown" catfish. Very similar in breed to the catfish you already own. Love yours!
Pea puffers follow you around, they are like gobies, but they will not do well Gourami at all. Puffers are too agressive. Puffers are my favorite, I have one now and it seems calm.I had three and they would fight eachother too much.
next to the two betas that were a breeding couple. They slept side by side every night. Never got another pair like those two again, so I stopped keeping betas.
Oh and my kohlis are fat! Greedy butches! They lay on the java ferns on the tank and peek there heads up like meerkats... then scoot outta sight if you get too close to the tank.
