Let's ask Cerebus....

What do you think about 20ten?

What is your fondest dream?

How would your best friend describe you?

Can you shake your booty, your mighty booty, your pretty booty?

Again hmm What? Who is that? I haven't had any problems with anybody here, so I can't say I'd be happy about anybody getting the boot. But I am happy that the mods actually moderate fairly and promptly here (that's my impression - I'm sure some other people would disagree lol ).

Not very often. Very rarely in fact. I have no problem expressing my opinion and debating a topic in an open forum. But I'm a little uncomfortable with direct attention. As an example, like, a thread with my name in the title! lol

I read and listen to music voraciously. I collect books, comic books and vinyl. I work in my garden. Mess with my fishtank. Play with my cats. Cook. Continue exploring the hidden nooks and crannies of the Bay Area and Northern Cali. Walk on the beach - sit and stare at the ocean. Anything to do with water, really. Take pics. Continue to create electronic music which I may or may not get around to releasing someday. Geek out online. Hang out with friends - shoot the shit, play some pool, listen to music. biggrin lol Oh! And basketball! I freakin' love NBA basketball. I get league pass every season and watch a boat load of games. Occasionally play with friends, but not as much as I get older.

I used to have more pics online but I deleted most of my buckets.

Yes. I have been kayaking and canoeing on the Colorado river (in Arizona) back when I was a Boy Scout.

Mess with my fishtank. Fresh or saltwater?

Play with my cats. How many cats do you have?

Cook What do you cook?

Each collection numbers in the thousands, so it's a bit difficult to answer that question. The books are mostly art, music, history (world and U.S.), philosophy and religion on the non-fiction side. Science fiction and fantasy on the fiction side. The comic books are almost exclusively independent and small publisher, starting with the underground comics of the early 70's leading right up to stuff I picked up this week. If you really want a list of current stuff I'm reading I'll make one. Vinyl is 75% jazz and electronic music of all eras and varieties. Probably 15% funk, which includes Prince. And 10% random other stuff.

Fresh water community tank. I enjoy the ease of care and variety of species that can live together.

Two cats. Just a year old this month. Brothers from the same mother, who belongs to my sister.

I cook anything, and everything I can. I probably cook at least 90% of everything I eat (fresh style - not packaged).

You should visit all of Northern Cali, but where you visit first depends on your interests. It's a big place.

I'm just a regular guy, really. Been a passionate Prince fan since 1983. Been to a lot of Prince shows at a lot of venues. Been around online for a long time, too, I guess. But online I'm Cerebus, which many of my "real world" friends call me as well. I used to talk about the comic book A LOT and certain aspects of my personality match that character pretty closely (not the drunkard part!). lol I was Cerebus online prior to the NPGMC, Cerebus at the NPGMC, Cerebus at the NPGUnderground and Cerebus at that... uhh.. other place that shall remain unnamed because it didn't have a dang chat or forum. I've been Cerebus here since 2003, but I never really made an effort to be part of the community until a couple months ago when I realized most of my other online hangouts no longer exist.

I'm also occasionally PurpleAsparagus and Ambient Mindspace online, because Cerebus is sometimes taken.

lol Been there. I got along with and on the NPGMC forums, but I know quite a few people who felt that way. I'm actually having the problem you describe right now. I know there are people here that I've known online in the past (and probably in the "real world", too). Even people I was close with. Shoot, there's a couple people who sent me Org notes a few months back TELLING me who they were. But for the life of me I can't remember what names they said they're using here now. And I can't figure out who most of the people I knew other places are here at the Org, period! John is pretty clear, because thankfully he used the same name. lol I've got a couple other people down now. But mostly I'm just rollin' along like I've never spoken to any of these people before, which is most definitely not the case. I'm sure of it... I think. lol

Because I'm a sarcastic ass. lol Same reason it says I'm 724 years old. I'm actually 38.

However, even though this is totally out of any kind of context if you aren't familiar with the material, and will therefor probably not make a lick of sense, both the sex and age sarcasm loosely relate to this as well...

Regarding the Cerebus comic book:

Reads: Third part of the Mothers and Daughters story-arc. This book primarily consists of two long text pieces. The first revolves around an author of "reads", heavily illustrated books in Cerebus's world. In this story, there is a strong thread about the dangers of commercial success and "selling out". It is generally viewed to be Sim's treatise on why independent comic publishing is preferable to publishing houses. The series moves from this storyline to a long essay attributed to Viktor Davis, a fictional "reads" author. This essay puts forth a theory on the nature of the genders, describing "the Female Void" focused on feeling, and "the Male Light" focused on reason. These two stories are accompanied by a long discussion between Cirin, Astoria, Cerebus, and Suenteus Po. Po gives information about aardvarks, including that all aardvarks have Cerebus' "magnifier" quality, and attempts to convince each of the others to abandon their pursuits of power and return to what they enjoy doing most, then leaves them to their fates. Astoria is convinced and also leaves, but not before giving Cerebus information about her history with Cirin and also informing him of his hermaphrodite nature. Cerebus and Cirin then engage in a long and brutal fight, which leads to the beginning of another ascension.

lol

Oi! More questions that require long answers. I'll see if I can rock it out before the banana bread timer goes off.

I've killed a good number of fish, unfortunately. But in general the goal of my tanks is to create a calm peaceful habitat where all the fish get along stress free, outside of any food chain. However, I also return a good number of them to the pet store that end up becomming feeders because I'm fond of live breeders, but don't bother to seperate them.

In the tank now is a Clown Plecostomus - lovely variety of this species as it stays quite small.

A Red Whiptail Catfish - actually looks much more red than the one in this pic, it looks a bit like a red/orange dragonfly with a whip on the end of it's tail.

Three Siamese Algae Eaters

Two Corydoras - aka Cory's

Three Bala Sharks - they school around the tank together

A male/female pair of Dwarf Gourami - you can't see it's feelers very well in this pic, but they have them. When you put your finger on the tank they swim over and try to feel it through the glass. lol

A constantly growing and cycled herd of Blue Tuxedo Guppies that I've worked very hard to keep blue. I still sometimes end up with some that aren't blue, because mother nature is weird that way.

Right now I have two Clown Loaches because I got some plants from somebody that unexpectedly came from snails. These guys will rid your talk of most snails without using chemicals.

And this guy, who I've had for a couple years now. He's molted twice, which is crazy because he leaves a transluscent shell on the bottom of the tank that perfectly matches his body. He's a Bamboo Shrimp, and he's actually quite large. A little over three inches I would say. He sits in the current of the water returning from the filter and eats micro organisms with fans on the end of his frontal appendages.

I'll do the garden list in a few minutes, without pictures! lol

Oh, I also had Mollies and Platies in the tank that I had to return to the pet store. Evidently my talk is really healthy and I was being completely overrun by the live breaders fry.
