We did a thread not too long ago about it... I DVR it everyday.
I watch for Whoopi. I absolutely HATE Sherri. Elizabeth is cute, but extremely irritating. Joy is not funny. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

No. Why would I care what those dumb broads think? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I in no way care, but it can be entertaining "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

If they would just STFU and let Whoopi talk ... she is the only one worth listening to

First off, they're not dumb. Let's be real about that.
Whoopi Goldberg is in no way a stupid girl. She's smart, and I love hearing her take on things. If anyone has a better informed opinion of matters in the world, or social ills or whatever, it's Whoopi Goldberg. And despite the fact that Rosie O'Donnell was so 'in your face' with stuff or whatever, the girl also spoke her mind, and kept the topics of reality TV at bay while highlighting the fact that hundreds of soldiers were dying every few months in Iraq and Afghanistan, a war we seem to just mindlessly ignore at this point because it's so blasse and status quo. Says a lot that war is the status quo and we don't think twice about it.
Joy Behar is a comedian and adds a lighter note to things sometimes, but she's also a very smart lady. She's not some random person who popped up on the show. In fact, she's the only surviving cast member out of all the ladies who have cycled through the table. She's been on the longest, since the beginning.
Sherri is funny, and has some interesting things to add. She's funny, but she also calls out the nonsense. Just yesterday she mentioned how when people talk about the boogeyman or try to put a generic idea of a person in a bad light, they always use a black man as the example. (The subject was Mel Gibson using the term "pack of n*****s.)
The thing I don't like about Elisabitch is that she's such a Republican suckup. It's not that she is just a hardcore Republican, or stands by what she believes - it's that she's so fucking blind to the many short-comings of the Republican party, and how they set relations and freedom back 20 years with every stroke of the pen. She'll back John McCain or Sarah Palin until it killed her, even if they were taking away voter rights for black folks, and lynching all homosexuals, yet in another breath she'll talk about equality for everyone as Americans. It's utter bullshit from her.
The great thing about Elisabeth is that she'll vent about someone and how horrible they are, until that person is in front of her, then she's a coward!
Case in point: Kathy Griffin was on the show a few weeks ago, and was being funny as usual. Everyone was getting into it, yet Elissy was shooting "confused" looks like "why is that funny? I'm better than that. I don't get it", and even stretched and yawned as if she was bored with it all. Then she trys to brings up how Kathy has talked about people on The View, and once Kathy (quickly) realized what she's doing, she says, "It's moments like this that I live for, so bring it on Elisabeth." It was suddenly very quiet on the other end of the couch, and the one time Elisabeth did try to form a retort, Joy knew she was just being a bitch, and Joy's whole demeanor changed. It was right as they went to commercial. GOD it was so CLASSIC!
Here's the clip: LOVE IT!

I used to love it and catch it daily. Mostly for the Hot Topic part then click off if nobody interesting was on. Then I used to love Hot Topic day.
I haven't watched in over a year.

- I totally agree with your Whoopi statement. Love her! I like that she speaks from experience on certain things, and lets them know everything isn't black or white.
- Joy Behar gets on my nerves, but she was a teacher before she went into comedy full-time.
- I really don't like Sherri. ALthough I agree with what you said about her calling out issues, she annoys the hell out me with her constant "Me, me, me...."
- Elizabeth is that girl that I would have had SERIOUS issues with in school. She's whiny and confrontational, and she tries to screech over others when they are talking. I was hysterical when Kathy Griffin went there with her... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

I do the same thing. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Exactly.
I think I'd rather stick hot pokers in my eyes and ears than watch them screech their nonsense for an hour.

Nope, not at all. I have seen the show a few times, but luckily I'm at work when it's on and I wouldn't waste my PVR space with it.
I do like Whoopi a lot. She's great, but the others.............

Like I said in a previous thread about The View, I give Whoopi some mad respect for being THE only woman on that panel to defend the late Michael Jackson. As for the other 3 women, f*** them!

Rarely. For the most part, Whoopi is the only person who's commentary i find interesting. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Not all the time. Remember the one AND only time Elisabeth ever won a battle against Rosie? Say what we will about Elisabeth (who I'm NOT a fan of), but she definitely did NOT back down in this episode:
And speaking of The Donald, I got to play this classic for old times sake. It's the ultimate f*** you note to Rosie:

I don't watch the show (except on a rare occasion) but...
I'm cool with Whoopi
Sherri is mad annoying but one can tolerate her in doses
Elizabeth and Joy are the most annoying ones, especially Joy imo
She had Joan Rivers who looks like the female version of the Ragin' Cajun James Carville on her show and I think my testicles started to bleed. I can't stand neither of them tricks

is Elizabeth slightly cross-eyed ???
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
oh, and another thing thats been bugging me as well..
Joys bloody grin.. i think she is funny sometimes but EVERY single blody time she says something she gets that big stupid grin on her face and starts laughing at herself
i didnt think good comedians laughed at their own jokes

I use to enjoy the show but even when they brought Whoopie in, who I thought would be much vocal in her opinions, has turned into either a total snooze fest or just everyone talking over each other. They always seem to tangent way too much from the original topic and end up somewhere out in left field.
Joy just makes a joke no matter what the subject matter is just to hear the applause, Sherri is just batshit stupid with her homophobia and thinking the world is flat religious nuttery. Whoopie spends most of the time just trying to get the other three to focus and throws out legal jargon so the show doesn't get sued. Elizabeth has gotten better, but I can't go right. N Babs who I have great respect for is slowly sinking into dementia it seems half the time.
Either stick a fork in its ass or totally reboot the show. Those gals have been giving the same opinion for far too long. [Edited 7/14/10 21:08pm] The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

I don't think that she won the arguement; I just think she danced around the issue like a little bitch. I don't watch the show, I don't have a biased opinion on the blonde woman, but I do think she sounded like an idiot here. I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.
