Oh I forgot, the smell of those plastic indoor kids tents that usually had some cartoon characters on them like He-man or Ninja Turtles.

The last time I visited my mom I went to the basement and looked for my Suckerman toy and took it home with me. He smells very OLD though. 1978ish! lol

I also found my old NBA posters such as these:

Kylie Minogue - I should be so lucky
M.A.S.K
Frosty mornings

Christmas - freshly cut bacon, mushrooms, ketchup and fresh coffee

I have 1 particular spot back in my home village that brings it all back - everything happened there.
An old concrete WW2 pillbox where we all used to meet and play.

It was the happiest time in my life, 10 years old, the year before my first ever exam and the type if friends you could fight with one day and be best friends with the next, a time before tough choices and regrets. You could play out without risk, leave bikes lying around without theft etc

Sometimes easy to forget that I doubt anyone lives there anymore...infact it only occurred to me the otherday that 1 friend wouldn't be living with her mum and dad still smile

hug That, to me is the biggest and most important remembrance of childhood...on my grandparent's farm...there was a whole field where daffodils went wild and would bloom after the winter...and that when I knew spring had arrived...I still have fantasies about those daffodils...and the scent...if I had a choice to pass away naturally... I would be 100 years old and lie down in a fragrant field of daffodils on a sunny spring day... And that is a very happy thought!!!
