Are you a music snob? I've been called a music snob more than once. I think its because I can't stand to listen to the radio for more than about 17 seconds. IMHO 99.9% of its all crap (at least where I live) - I think many people would agree with me here. I will even admit to looking down on people who listen to shit like Brittney Spears. Its pathetic. It annoys me. So is this such a bad thing? Any other music snobs out there? +=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+

I found a new Christian punk rock station which is really cool, and strange enough, you can hardly tell the songs are Christian... y'see they all be trying to get the "cross" over. But yeah, radio is really sad, or maybe I'm getting old. Both most likely. But hey, there's lotsa choices on DMX and Internet radio. We just need some kick-ass bands and artists to clean up the airwaves from all the garbage, but that won't stop the record buying public (mostly teens) from still wanting tons of junk food.

Yes, I am a snob. It bugs me that people who can't create their own music are considered musicians, getting music awards just because they can dance, show some skin and maybe kinda sorta sing.
I write all my music and lyrics, so that's why I always want to know who wrote what. Some of pop music is fun to listen to and just have a good time, but most of it is sooo lame. Formulas. And I can't stand commercials. I carry 10-20 cds with me everyday so I can listen at work.

Record companies wont sign kick-ass bands and artists because the teens want the junk food.

I agree with you, and you're not a snob. Radio has been in
a downward spiral for the last decade. We still listen to the radio at work, -hey not all people here want to listen to other people's records- so I hear it every day. Which is torture at times. Especially when they decide to promote one particular song and play it every hour, on the hour. Horrible. Like that "this is the best song in the world, tribute" is rather big over here now and the first time I heard it I thought it was semi-funny but still shit. And now I must have heard it 250 times and just want to jump out of the window when I hear it come up again. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Olivia Newton-John's Greatest Hits Part 2; check
Abba collection 4 cd box; check The Carpenters Greatest Hits; check. Barbara Streisand 4 cd box; guilty. So, in other words; no. Guilty pleasures are there to be enjoyed. And Britney's Slave 4 U should make a Prince fan's heart throb. So you are a snob, partly. But there are so many different radiostations out there; you do not have to tune into a commercial one.

I have music swings every now and then, but some music you just can't keep away from even if you know that who ever is singing that their fake as* can't sing...
I listen to music in different types of ways, some for fun, some seriously, some just to uplift my moods, others just to find a way to relate to my moods, and others I just laugh at, and then there are those I listen to just to take me back in the day, and then there's that music that just makes me happy, that makes me feel good, which is what I listen to mostly... I hardly listen to the radio, and if I do, it's the old school jams I like most, there's only like 1 or 2 songs that I really take seriously on the hip-hop stations... If I'm a snob...at least I know what good taste is! [This message was edited Thu Jan 23 1:25:07 PST 2003 by Starmist7]
