Mary J. Blige Sets Home Shopping Record

From Billboard Bits...

Home Shopping Network (HSN) announced that its exclusive launch of Mary J. Blige's My Life fragrance shattered records for fragrance sales at the retail channel. Target Market News reports that, upon its July 31 debut, My Life sold 60,000 units in six hours of air time. Sales of the fragrance helped support Foundation of the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN), a non-profit organization co-created by Blige. (Target Market News).

cool for Mary and the Charity. Let's hope it actually smells good, too. *cough*

Sooooooo....where did Prince go wrong with Get Wild and 3121? I never really followed those campaigns but I´ve read that his perfumes were not really that successful. Does it have to do with MJB being more popular among the younger target groups or did she just have a better strategy?

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Prince's fragrances just seemed like vanity projects to me, with no one being interested unless they were part of his cul....er, um, I mean fan base.

Mary (who you have to consider is older now, married, with an aging female demographic),took her product straight to Home Shopping Network, were every celebrity is hawking their wares to celebrity licensed merchandise addicts. My mom is one of those people. She's never owned a Mary J. record in her life, but I betcha by the time Mary was done telling anecdotes about her life, pitching that perfume, sitting there looking pretty in perfect hair and make-up, my mom probably bought one of those perfumes ....to go right alongside her Suzanne Summers thighmaster, Sophia Loren sunglasses, Joan Rivers costume jewelry, Gorge Foreman grill, and Colin Cowie pick-a-decorative-home accessory lol

I doubt it. She's pretty good with throwing out clothes (which is actually the stuff I want her to keep...for me..! wink ) but her kitchen gadgets...oh lawd, no. My mama still got her 1970's Hot Dogger and Hamburgeler down in the basement waiting to brushed off and used when we come home dead dead dead
