Microsoft gives up on KIN http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/mobile/07/01/kin.microsoft/index.html?hpt=C2
After only 2 months since the product rolled out Microsoft is going to nix the product amid sluggish sales. It was priced very reasonably, and aimed at a younger market. Sort of like a no-bullshit alternative to the more expensive iPhone. It was also introduced in a media blitz which should have spawned some interest.
Microsoft will instead focus on Windows Phone 7.
I'm not sure what WIndows Phone 7 will bring to the table but the IPhone and Google Android platforms are formidable competition, not to mention the other products on the market.
One thing is for sure, since Apple introduced the first iPhone, the cellphone market's pace of innovation has been on fire. Let's see if Microsoft can reclaim some prominence in it.

I didn't know anything about this "KIN" until the morning, reading the Wall Street Journal.
