reliving a moment in a different era...

If you could go back in time to any era/century.. to see how they lived how things were ect.

what era would you choose and what would you want to be and experience first hand ?

my answer: I always wanted to go back to the 1700's during the french revolutionary war and see king louis and queen marie antoinette and be part of there entourage.. like a dutchess or some kind of royalty server...

this time in history has always amazed me and interested me..

yes i know women didnt have much say or were they treated very well but just to see how an empire grew and fell and to see what it took to live a lifestyle like that would be very interesting

things like the black plaugue and shit probably would have scared the living hell out of me but meh (i say off with there heads lol) for those of you who got this joke lol

anyway how about you ? what would you choose and why?

insatiable3: how can i cure my hangover?

Ever since I was a little kid I was crazy about knights and castles. A dutch writer called Thea Beckman wrote amazing historical novels about kids in different ages. Her books were like nectar to bees; they made my imagination leap up.

So I always wanted to be a bard and travel through the middle ages, from castle to castle and from fair to fair, in Italy, France, Spain and Germany. See castles, see knights, make up songs.

But then again, the wonder in those things is the modern-day person looking back, isn't it? Maybe we all should look to the future. And start worrying. The human overpopulation of Earth is wrecking it in ways we cannot even imagine. And for what? So we can internet. Gawd, I almost wanna log off now...

I would love to be one of the women faithful during the three days between the Crucifixion and Resurrection. I want to know that kind of faith to witness a death and have ultimate hope and knowledge that it isn't the end.

Now this is a luxury a few of us ethnic groups don't really have the luxury in indulging in lol, at least in America.

Shit, women can't really do it safely either.

Remember, go back too far and the era you find yourself in (if you're not a white male) could be less than friendly. lol

I'm a child of the 80's and they were awesome. However, it would be cool to be there as a grown up and reap the benefits of being a lightskin, wavy-haired brother! lol

The 70's just seemed like a lot of fun.

Most of all, I'm fascinated by the 1960's, particularly the latter part of the decade. There were so many changes going on in society. And it was all reflected in the music, movies and fashion. Would love to witness it all for myself.

Going back too much further is scary.

I wish I had been an adult in the 1970s so I could fully have enjoyed the disco era and the early 1980s era as an adult. I graduated high school in 1985 and was an adult then but Shitney Houston had ruined the music era.

I hear ya. I partied like hell in the skating rinks in the late 1970s and early 1980s but being a teenager and going skating is far from drinking and partying as an adult in clubs. I became an adult in the late 1980s but it was an extremely boring scene by then because Shitney had influenced other R&B acts into being adult contemporary and the straight clubs at least were filled with "parent friendly" slow dull music. It was definately a dry spell in my life but it did pick up for me in the early 1990s in the gay clubs till around 1993 or 1994 because I loved house music which felt like a reincarnation of disco. Shit hop had to come along and ruin that though. I can't even tolerate being in the same room with what's being played in clubs now. And gay clubs are just as boring as straight clubs nowadays which is rediculous because we're supposed to be fun loving partying people. lol

The internet is the closet thing we'll ever have to time travel. Yes, it's all virtual, but I love searching for specific items from my past and finding them. Whether they are photos or copies. You can buy almost anything from the past on e-bay. You tube is the best for finding old shows and concerts I could not get to or was not old enough to attend. I time travel all the time on the Web. One day i sat in front of my PC for 10hrs straight. I had to turn on the TV or find a paper to remind myself what day and year it was. lol

That was a great day and I discovered SO much stuff. I love the internet!
