Memphis gave Rudy Gay five years at $82 million. WTF????

Darko Milicic got a four-year deal from the T-Wolves.

And these owners have the nerve to cry poverty.

For Rudy's upside, I can see that.

As can I. To me, he's the sleeper of the free agent class. Boston, Cleveland, San Antonio, any number of contenders or dark horses could use his scoring punch. The Grizz actually have a nice core of young players, they just need some veteran leadership.

I had a feeling he'd remain also; the oppurtunity to three peat with two differant teams twice, who would pass that up?

I hear you. The hawks just overpayed for Johnson and Johnson isn't even on the

same level Pierce is. I would certainly give Pierce a big payday before i give

one to Stoudemire. At least Pierce will attempt to play defense.

Methinks ye may be hyping Pierce up a tad bit much. wink

I guess you're right. Him leading Boston within 2 minutes of a 2nd NBA title

in 3 years was a fluke. wink

And who was the MVP of the 2008 finals again and the best player in

the series? For the record i never stated he led them to the finals without

KG and Ray. Kobe wouldn't have sniffed the NBA finals the last 3 years

without Gasol and Fisher either. We can circle the wagons on this thread. lol

Channing Frye has agreed to a five year, $30 million contract to stay with the Suns, a league source tells Y! Sports.

The Suns upped their offer from $25 million to $30 million on Thursday, and Frye accepted those terms tonight.

Frye listened to Chicago, Boston and others, but ultimately wanted to stay with Steve Nash. Once Suns pushed to $30 million, it was easy.

Toronto Raptors have reached agreement to sign centre Amir Johnson to a five-year, $34 million deal, agent Kevin Bradbury tells Y! Sports. Brian Colangelo has now spent $143 million on Hedo Turkoglu, Andrea Bargnani, and Amir Johnson in the last 2 summers.

Pierce just netted an additional 40 million from Boston.

He gets 61 million over the next 4 years vs 21 million for next year.

Basically, Boston has doubled down on the Big Three after coming up short the last 2 years. Now that they've given all this money to Pierce, they've swallowed a lot of their cap room to get another impact FA that could put them over the hump. So basically they've got room to resign many of their key FAs and maybe one Rasheed Replacement chasing a title.

But can they risk another season of dogging it for 1/2 the season and taking a puncher's chance on winning the title? I really don't think so. And with the chance of a work stoppage in '11 that makes the risk even greater.

Bottom line: the Celtcis are finished if they don't win in 2011.

Lakers going after Mike Miller. Uh-oh. Not good for the rest of the NBA. But I wanna see them scoop up Matt Barnes and Delonte West, as long as West's legal issues don't fuck him over.

Get serious. lol

Artest was pretty much AWOL until the last game of the series.

His presence allowed Kobe not to have to expend energy defending Pierce.

That's the difference between this past NBA Finals and the 2008 Finals.

Pierce abused Artest in games 4 and 5.

A lot of times it's just the rich getting richer and the poor

getting poorer just like college football. How many times have

you seen players try to piggyback their way to a ring by joining

the Lakers (Lakers and Celtics of 80's too). Gary Payton and Karl Malone anyone. In their case

it backfired because of the egos on the team and even the Zen

Master couldn't Zen his way out of that one.
