The NCAA can't develop players or be what it was.

Their best players bolt after one year, even those who aren't "Association-ready."

And everyone -- the NBA, the NCAA, talented players -- loses.

Once the networks got involved with these phat contracts, big-time college basketball & football stopped being amateur. Despite what the NCAA says, we know the real deal.

According to the NY Daily News, three armed men paid a visit to Wright's wife six weeks ago. They threatened her and her family if Wright didn't pay what he owed them.

I'm glad the cops arrested this jackass at gunpoint. I saw the video - WTF was he thinking? This is how Bobby Phills got killed.

Kings' Evans caught at 120-130 mph

Gunpoint wasn't necessary. Dude wasn't speeding then, and was casually driving. Now, had he been a threat at that time still, then I can see them using guns, but drawing down on them was bullshit.

Fair enough, but in many states, going more than 15-20 over the speed limit can be grounds for immediate arrest. Son nearly doubled the speed limit. A draw down at the time was unnecessry, but the kid showed them up. That's dangerous.

Some people act like they've never been anywhere in their lives. Give them endless praise, put them on a pedestal before they reach puberty, then hand them millions of dollars guaranteed, and they're even worse. Evans is not the first, and won't be the last. It makes me wonder who these kids will ever listen to.

Oh, he definitely should've been arrested.

These cops don't play around on traffic stops. When I was in traffic court, they talked about how officers had been killed on routine traffic stops, and now some cities routinely call for backup on "40 in a 30" stops. I agree the guns were extreme. But a) black man, b) young, c) in an 80,000 (?) car, d) at that speed, the way things are these days, he should thank the maker he's alive.

More bizarre shit;

MEMPHIS,TN – Homicide detectives spent their Sunday afternoon in Sherra Wright’s Collierville home collecting evidence. They spent an hour in the backyard which doesn’t come as a surprise to neighbors Tim Coleman and Ruth Ann Carnes who saw heavy smoke coming from the fire pit the day Lorenzen went missing. They say that’s because Sherra Wright started a fire in the backyard, and they thought it was unusual for Wright to light a fire on one of the hottest days of the year.

Coleman says that’s not the only bizarre behavior he’s noticed over the weeks. While on the phone in her front yard he heard Sherra Wright on the phone. “I just heard her talking to somebody about needing her money. I don’t know anymore than that. I really try not to listen to it but when she’s screaming it’s hard not to hear stuff.”

Neighbors like Ruth Ann Carnes say former Grizzlies and Tigers Player Lorenzen Wright lived for his children. “He was a big tweeter and he talked about his kids all the time.”

It’s been four days since Lorenzen Wright’s body was discovered in a field. He was reported missing by his mother July 22, 2010. He was last seen by his ex-wife July 18, 2010. Sherra Wright has been questioned by Memphis Police, so far no one has been charged in connection with Lorenzen Wright’s death.

There is a reason why law enforcement ALWAYS look at the spouse/ex-spouse 1st.

Maybe their response was a bit excessive, but I think assuming all of those things were coming into play is unfair to law enforcement. The speed he was driving constitutes being charged with several felonies, including reckless endangerment. I would imagine that ANYONE in ANY CAR would have been taken into custody the same way. I mean, what possible LEGAL reason could ANY person have to be travelling that fast? Plus, they just don't mess around in Sac Town. lol

confused There's only two cops there! So NOT excessive. The shit he was pulling justified being arrested in that manner. They just put hundreds of other drivers at risk of seriousl injury, or death. I've driven that stretch of freeway a couple hundred times in my life (easily, probably more than that over the last 20 years). I can tell you from experience that he's lucky there was light traffic AND that he didn't blow out a tire and wreck. That freeway looks nice there, but parts of it are actually pretty bad. He was still driving like a fool when he first got off the freeway, too.

Thank you! And of course I've had arguments with young punks at other sites who saw no problem with this(and accused the cops of bias). Idiots. Tell that to David Wesley and the family of Bobby Phills.

But what you're going off is what he DID and not what he WAS DOING at the time one-time rolled up on them. At the time of his arrest, he wasn't speeding at all, so no need to draw down on him. Now had they tried to pull him over WHILE he was speeding, then ok, I can see it. Plus, don't know how just 2 cops CAN'T be excessive? All it takes is ONE COP to be excessive with his ONE GUN.
