Look, I've never ever seen anyone of Megan's act skills. And til this very day, I refuse to go see Michael Bey's abominational version of Transformers. Any filmmaker that dare to damage my childhood memories of one of my all-time favorite cartoon series does NOT deserve my hard earn money at all.......................But THAT is another thread for another day.

THIS thread is partlally about Megan Fox. I look at her as "the poor man's Angelina Jolie". I think the woman has potential but just needs to get away from action films for a while.

But THIS thread is really about the legency of DC Comics' infamous Jonah Hex.

As a old-school fan of comic books, I always wish for live action films based on comic characters to succeed. But what I would love to know is what really went wrong with Jonah Hex. Why did this film failed? Better yet, are any fans of DC Comics ever cared for the title character to begin with. He's not Superman, He's not Batman, Hell, he's not even on the level of Aquaman! But Jonah Hex is definitely old-school.

And I can NOT buy into film critics' opinions that Megan was THE only reason why the film failed at the box office. Something else definitely went wrong and I would love to hear your second opinions on this situation.

I loved the comic book as a kid and was kind of excited when I saw they were making it into a movie. I didn't even know it came out this past weekend. There was absolutely no advertising for it whatsoever as far as I can tell. I saw a commercial for it a few weeks ago and that was it. We saw Toy Story 3 on Saturday and I didn't see any posters for Jonah Hex in the lobby either.

I'm so happy that you admitted this. The lack of advertising for a film is usually the first warning sign that a box office bomb is likely. It's almost as if the producers were never happy with their own film project.

I'm of the opinion that a lot of these Comics Turned Movies can be better done as a limited mini-series on HBO and Showtime. Jonah Hex would have been perfect to capture that Deadwood feel.

Heck, even Thor and Captain America should consider giving the silver screen a miss. Cinema has already hit the wall for comic themed features.

Save it for _The Avengers_.

If a movie based on a comic book isn't about Batman, Superman, any of the Justice League of America superheroes, or Spiderman, then I have never heard of said comic.

Have you seen the thread about this on Deadline Hollywood Daily? It's practically a "Bash Megan Fox" hatefest. Now I understand that she's quite easy on the eyes but not necessarily the most talented thespian in Hollywood, but from what I heard about the movie from people who actually saw the movie, she was barely in it. What was more disturbing was that whoever wrote the script apparently felt the need to add supernatural elements to the main character which were not in the original comic. I did see some ads for the movie, but only within the last two weeks, and they marketed Megan Fox heavily along with some Matrix-style elements which looked very out-of-place for a western.

But there are a huge number of people who have their knives out for Megan Fox just to keep her in line. Once again, she makes a lot of young men's loins tingle and stiffen, but her issue with being box office poison is that young women hate her. A lot of guys think Angelina Jolie and Scarlett Johannson are really hot, but women like them too, and they want to emulate them. Yet a lot of women see Megan Fox as a bitch and dumb bimbo, which is probably one of the main reasons her movie Jennifer's Body tanked at the box office, despite having a lesbian love scene and the Oscar-winng screenwriter of Juno writing the script. So unfortunately for her, her roles will be relegated to sexy vixen just for the fanboys.

She is really no different than 90% of actresses out there....except she's beautiful and desired by a lot of men who think she is really sexy, in a naughty kind of way.

I've read some of her interviews and she is not as dumb as people make her out to be. She's funny and sarcastic and unfortunately her sense of humour is lost on many people....but many people also buy Nickelback, and Akon records...so that's not surprising to me.

I like her from what I've seen/read about her and the fact that some people, especially woman really hate her and actually want her to fail makes me like her even more.

I think shes overhyped and not as gorgeous as the other girls (Scarlett, Angelina, Natalie) Her face is extremely plain compared to theirs. Its purely the movie peoples fault if its flopping because of her, even if shes not really in the movie all that much, as they're advertising it as though shes a main character. I have a feeling although her films flop at the box office she will have big home dvd sales. Kind of like the Pamela Anderson of the 00's except Pamela was actually beautiful in the 90's.

I'm glad that her movie bombed; hell, I want her "career" to bomb; I'm tired of models pretending they can act (she doesn't even try to act to begin with, which is even more offensive)

The first and only time I've ever heard about Jennifer's Body was at my local Red Box vendor machine. Not a good sign of success at all.

I think it's hilarious how butt-hurt some transformers fans are over Michael Bay's representation of the series. It's not like the entire universe is completely concrete, the transformers themselves often recieved redesigns. Besides, as much as I love the original series (i own the boxsets) it is still a laughably bad cartoon series. The comics were much superior. The transformers' universe is very flexible.

The movie didn't bomb because of Megan Fox, it's because the movie looked boring as shit on all accounts. I haven't seen it, but the trailers certainly didn't make me want to it.

She's got a great sense of humour in her interviews. I loved Jennifer's Body, I didn't have an opinion on her before that because she didn't really do anything in Transformers. It's always funny to hear girls hate on her and claim it's because she's a bad actress and not just because she's pretty and funny.

She hasn't really done a movie that requires any emotional/dramamatic acting though She's good at the sort of roles she does.

It's always funny to hear girls hate on her and claim it's because she's a bad actress and not just because she's pretty and funny.

Its also funny to hear her defenders always using that excuse. There are other pretty girls in hollywood that dont get hated on. People act like shes the most beautiful girl in the world and I dont get that. Shes the definition of 'plain jane even with make up, whos lucky to be slim' to me, and there's tons of those around so I dont get how she made it big with no acting ability. She truly is an awful actress but I dont hate her for that as so are some of my favourites. I'm just stumped at people calling everyone who thinks shes overrated jealous.

Really, what film has she done that she was awful in? Transformers? Well she was supposed to just look pretty in that which she did. Jennifer's Body? I thought she was brilliant in it. That Simon Pegg movie that she was in for less than 5 minutes? Well she was fine in that as well. She's been in some bad films and has mostly done non-demanding roles but she hasn't really given a bad performance. There is a difference. Overrated? But no one rates her as an actress though

To be honest I don't really care for her looks, she's pretty and everything but then most actresses are, I never saw the attraction until I saw one of her interviews and thought she was really funny.

The movies I've seen her in are Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Holiday in the Sun, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People, Jenifers Body and The first 20 or so minutes of Transformers and the only one I thought she was decent in was Jenifers Body. Awful was probably an overstatement, but shes definitley lacking something. When I think about it she has been progressing though. Dont get me wrong I like her personality and her kind of celebrity also which is why I even have an interest in her, I just dont get why if a girl doesnt like her it has to be because of her looks. Why dont people say that about other pretty girls in hollywood if a female doesnt like her?

Oh yes they do. Lots of women also dislike Scarlet and Angelina - lots.

But Megan is different because she is not only looked at as hot by guys, but she also looked at as sort of porn star hot because of her look and style. So not only do woman hate that she is good looking but they also call her names like "whore" even though she has been in a monogamous relationship for years and years. And she does not come off as stupid, she’s outspoken, smart and funny - from what I have seen.

Like I said, her acting is really no worse than most actors out there, so the excuse that they hate her because of her acting is a weak one for sure...

Even so, wishing failure for a chick that is simply attempting to make a living doing what she enjoys doing is beyond lame and definitely comes off as jealousy - I mean, why the fuck would anyone really care what she does? Don't like her? Don't see her movies, but to wish her failure is just fucking weird....just so their boyfriends won't be able to look at her and drool?

The reason why I say that is because she hasn't proven herself to be a bad actress yet so if girls don't like her it's not because of her abilities as an actress. Other females in Hollywood who get called bad actresses often have proven themselves to be so Also it's worth drawing a distinction between bad actresses (i.e Paris Hilton, Julia Stiles, Pam Anderson), one's that can act but just do bad films/roles (e.g. Kate Hudson, Lindsay Lohan).

for fuck's sake, even Jessica Alba acts like 1000 times better than Megan Fox...

I think she's insanely beautiful and a lot smarter than most people think.

She's hot and we've not seen the last of her.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the Thor movie. From what I've heard, it sounds like they may have got one right for once. Time will tell.

I wanted to rent Jennifer's Body with a friend recently and my friend didn't want to because she didn't like Megan Fox. Bottom line, people can be haters and my friend is one of them. I don't feel Megan Fox has done enough acting-wise for people to establish they don't like her acting. I don't care that much for Megan Fox's personality (or what the media spins) but her presence is not going to keep me away from a movie.

You should rent it. I really wanted to go watch it at the cinema but no one would go with me (even my male friends lol) because it was really marketed at horny teenaged boys. When it came out to rent I forced a few friends to watch it and they all enjoyed it. The CGI looks awful on blu-ray and the pace of the movie is a little off, but it's very funny.
