Single widower... He was calm, fair, and would take Opie "out to the woodshed" if needed. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Watching "All In The Family" while I was growing up was a favorite pastime of mine. While other kids watched cartoons, I loved to watch the old sitcoms from years past. Archie Bunker (Carroll O'Connor) was SO fucked up, and SO politically incorrect in SO many ways, but damn if it wasn't funny.
Dan Connor (John Goodman) on Roseanne was another one of my favorites; he's the all-American dad, doing whatever he has to, to make ends me for his family. Plus I have some strange attraction to him...
Ahhh, I have a warm place in my heart for "Good Times". Still one of my favorite shows -- James Evans Sr. (John Amos) running his family with an iron fist, answering to no one... expect Florida, that is! I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

Ya know, as critical as I am of things about Good Times, I have to agree with you. I really liked the way James Evans was depicted. He was his own man, always hard-working, tough as nails, but obviously loving to his entire family. [Edited 6/22/10 11:13am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
