The Wayans as a whole have been in the business for over 30 years, yes 30. People think these guys got started with In Living Color. Nope, they been in the game since the late 70s' PRINCE: Always and Forever

I have always loved them. And never knew what a fantastic actor Marlon was until I saw Requiem For a dream. That boy made me cry my eyes out. He's my fave. And my fave movie with Damon is The Last Boy Scout.
But what about sis?

I've only ever thought Damon has shown real comedic talent -- and even that's a rare showing.
They're all gorgeous, though. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Damon was supposed to play Richard sometime back in like 95. I think Damon would have been great as Richard. PRINCE: Always and Forever

And I loved it in one of Dave Chappelle skits when he was talking to his agent, that he lost one of his auditioned roles to the younger Wayans. He was like "WTF! There're MORE?"

What I always liked about the Wayans family is that they worked together, when the family left ILC, that show was never the same afterwards.
Actually it was the second episode of Cheers. But yeah, the Wayans' been around for years.
Keenan was on an episode of Benson that I remember, I think he played the nephew.
I remember an episode of A Different World when I saw Damon, Keenan and Kim in the same episode. Keenan was a debate coach, Damon was a DJ, and Kim was featured throughout the first season as a student.
I remember Marlon in an United Negro College Fund commercial years ago before people knew who he was.
I remember those HBO specials that Keenan and Robert Townsend did, they did Hollywood Shuffle, Eddie Murphy's Raw, and the Five Heartbeats together.
I don't like a lot of Damon Wayans' films but Celtic Pride is my favorite of his, he was very funny in that film.

Hollywood Shuffle and I'm Gonna Git You Sucka are classics!!!
How many kids are in that Wayans family? Are their parents still together? What are the grandkids doing?
They should create a legacy that spans generations.

There are ten Wayas kids. A few like Dwayne (who is the oldest, not Keenen) did things throughout the years. He'd play on ILC as extras a lot, and is now a music producer.
The grandchildren are actin now (from the 1st gen Wayans parents.) Damien was the first he was featured in Major Payne as that main black kid (sorry can't think of his name.) Damon Jr., Jon (Damon's sons) and another young girl (can't remember who's kid) does stand up and sparodic acting bits. PRINCE: Always and Forever

Marlon and Shawn Wayans to perform stand-up in Manhattan
WHO: The Wayans Brothers: Marlon and Shawn. WHAT: Comedy. WHEN: 8 p.m. Thursday and Sunday; 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 8 p.m., 10:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Saturday. WHERE: Carolines, 1626 Broadway, Manhattan; 212-757-4100 or carolines.com. HOW MUCH: $51.25. It took arguably the greatest stand-up of all time to inspire Marlon Wayans to try his luck as a comic. When Wayans was tabbed to play Richard Pryor in a forthcoming biopic (due out next year), he decided to do stand-up. "If I wasn't going to play Richard Pryor, I probably wouldn't be out doing stand-up," Wayans said while calling from Los Angeles. "The journey of Richard Pryor brought me here, and I'm thankful for that." Wayans will be on a bill with his brother Shawn Thursday through Sunday at Carolines. "I'll be [the middle act] for Shawn, who has been doing this for 20 years," Wayans said. "I don't have the experience that Shawn has, but I'm willing to learn from the ground floor. I'm learning but make no mistake, I have something to say." Wayans, 37, who co-starred with Shawn in the WB sitcom "The Wayans Bros." during the late '90s, is an animated stand-up, who is comfortable doing characters. He's working in some personal material. "The stuff that is closest to the heart is the toughest stuff to do," Wayans said. "The guy who was the best at that was Pryor. You saw him go onstage and say, 'I had a heart attack' and go from there. It's amazing how deep he dug." While growing up in New York, Wayans was weaned on Pryor's comedy and the work of his comic-actor brothers Keenen and Damon. "What those two older brothers of mine did was crystallize the journey for me," Wayans said. "They are the best brothers I could have had. Keenen would take you by the hand when it came to comedy, and Damon was very nurturing as well. I learned so much watching them as comics and from how they explained the art to me." Marlon followed some of his older brothers' lessons when it came to film and television work. "Now I'm doing it as a stand-up comic," Wayans said. "I'm doing my best to entertain people and I'm doing my best to do the finest job I can do to play Richard Pryor." Damon, who was originally cast to play Pryor for a different project in 1993, believes that Marlon is perfect for the role. "I don't think that just anyone can play Richard Pryor," Damon said. "He's a complicated figure to play. But I think Marlon has what it takes to play him. Marlon is a deep guy who understands comedy. I'm proud of the fact that he's going out there and [learning] the craft by playing the clubs. You need to live the life of a stand-up to play one, particularly if you're going to play the greatest comic who ever lived. "It didn't work out for me to play Richard. … Marlon is younger and he can handle the role." Expect Marlon to continue delivering stand-up after the Pryor movie is finished. "I didn't know that I would love it this much," Wayans said. "You get such a rush doing it. I don't see myself stopping. I would like to do stand-up for a long time."
