OH LORD!!!
http://www.bittenandbound.com/2010/06/11/dennis-rodman-behind-300k-in-child-support/
Retired NBA star Dennis Rodman is currently $300K behind in child support payments for his two children, son D.J. and daughter Trinity. His estranged wife Michelle Moyer reports that Rodman has slipped six month behind on his family obligation. The breakdown, per the court order, is $50,000 a month and an additional $1,083 for spousal support. Our friends at TMZ dialed up Dennis’ rep, who reported that Rodman fully intends to settle up soon. In the eyes of the court system, that qualifies him as a ‘deadbeat dad’. We are not sure what the “sometime” cross-dresser is currently doing for work. Last year he did a stint on “Celebrity Apprentice”, where his bizarre behavior worried many of his friends and family enough that they tried intervening and getting Rodman into rehab. At the time it backfired, but he later signed on to be a part of “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.” Dude has also authored four books. The latest “I Should Be Dead by Now”, was released in 2005. The cover showed him sitting up in a coffin.

If a man doesn't want to pay child support... then get full custody.
Otherwise, pay the all-the-time babysitter-custodian-caretaker what she's due for raising that baby all by herself.
Few men actually keep the baby and take care of the babies themselves, most men visit for a day or two, and hand of the child to an aunt, sister or their mom while daddy goes about his everyday biz. whopp-ti-doo.

I myself have a deadbeat daddy issue...his court date is in august because he stopped paying. He's so screwed! there's a 7% penalty on any back owed support. He's gonna keep paying til his child is 35. AND Imma sue for college tuition on TOP of that... that's 44,000.00+ a year added to the back owed amount.

he might pull that unemployment card. I've heard of this....the men go from job to job or get paid under the table so the state can't attach their wages. A woman literally has to wait till tax season to get anything out of the scumbag.

He has already tried, but I refused him on the order for modification. I didn't sign it and told an officer of probate court that daddy was in arrears on his payments. In order for him to claim he had to put his new adress down on the order. FOUND his trilfing ass that way.
I was then able to file my order of contempt (?I think that what its called) because I finally got his address, and now the DOR is able to track him down. The constable delivered the sopenas last Friday, to his place in Santa Monica, Cali. And not to worry, he lives with his new wife in a double income household... the DOR will be dipping into wifey's pocketbook too. Mind you, the order is in Massachusetts. Asshole was flying back and forth from Cali to MA in order to file court papers NOT to pay childsupport.

Brian Mcknight Ordered To Pay Over $300K in Back Child Support
June 12, 2010
A Florida judge ruled singer Brian Mcknight is the father of a 14-year-old boy and owes his mom child support.
The judge in Orange County ruled in favor of Miriam Lee after McKnight failed to file any documentation challenging Lee's claim that he was her son's dad.
The judge also ordered McKnight to pony up $341,640 in back child support.
A spokesman for McKnight said the singer wasn't conceding the issue. "The judgment in Florida was a default judgment made without Brian present," the spokesman said. "He's still looking to establish paternity, and is awaiting the results of a recent test."

I've seen this said on these boards a few times now as if all any father has to do is claim the child like its the last piece of chicken or something and it's a done deal and there will be no fight from the mother, who, let's face it, has the advantage in family court as far as custody goes.

I think that's only if the children are pre-K and under. Seems fathers have more pull if the child is well off the tit.

For the majority of the states that may be true, but things are different where I live. Lots of new laws are now being practiced that benefit father's rights. In Massachuetts you no longer have to have a mom on crack to get your children.
Most men get shared custody easily, 50/50 and more mothers now are being made to cough up child support, but only if the father was actively caring for the child since birth which many of these deadbeat dads do NOT do. Moms usually have to track the missing dads down in the majority of these situations since most of these cases are out of wedlock. The problem lies in most relationships were dad is literally absent since birth, so the judge awards the mother full custody, since she's been the sole caretaker from the start. So... then you get a guy whos has to cough up child support and never sues for custody since he really doesn't want to actually raise the child, just spend the weekends with the child at best.
These are only generalizations I've seen in my experiences, there are always exceptions of course. I actually wished more men trusted these mothers less. A few of these children fall prey to scorned women, and one is too many.

the judgement stays the same according to the state you were sued in. If the judgement was made in Texas then Texas law would apply if you moved to Massachusetts.. but again states vary on that rule.
All I know, is that my son's father wishes he never got sued in Massachusetts, father's have the most right's but child support is stirctly enforced here as well. Men who are made to pay have to pay even if they move to Hawaii.

After overcharging me (child support is automatically garnished from your pay no matter what I guess, because I was paying 2-3 times what was due before the divorce) they try to tell my ex "well just keep it" and "wow we never hear complaints about getting too much money". I know the child comes first, but to take more than the courts required and not even try to give it back...that's pretty much theft IMO. Fortunately my ex was cool about it.
