I love the idea of an 18 game schedule. 4 preseason games is a waste.

What do u think about an 18 game regular season?

18-game schedule gains steam

NFL and union officials discussed adding two games to the regular season when they met Wednesday for their first negotiating session since February.

Teams still would play a total of 20 exhibition plus regular-season games under the proposal. The league would go from four in the preseason and 16 in the regular season to two and 18.

Green Bay Packers president Mark Murphy says it's an ''idea that is really gaining momentum, particularly with the owners.''

Horrible idea. Too many injuries as it is.

This is all about money. Teams can't sell out pre-season games, so they want this crap.

I have mixed feelings...I love football and would love to see more, but agree with Uptown regarding the injuries.

The injuries issue is real whether they are play a preseason game or a game that counts.

It is violent sport.

I vote a huge nay to the idea of an 18 games regular season.

I rather the NFL leave the regular season at 16 games and have only 2 preseason games instead of the usual 4.

Think about it: What is the point of 4 preseason games when it only takes 1 home game & 1 road game to decide which non-starting players will NOT make the 53 players roster?!?

Yay, the more meaningful games I can watch, the happier I am.

Well at least you know beforehand that your Chicago Bears will not be the first team to go 18-0.

I don't even think the Saints, Colts, Vikings, or any other offensive minded teams would go for 18-0. We know the Colts would lose one or two games on purpose to keep some starters freah for the playoffs.

But the starters won't play that much in pre-season games. These cats aren't robots - 18 is too much wear and tear.

They would probably expand the rosters if they add 2 games.

Exactly. You need those four preseason games to evaluate draft picks, free agents, and

to see how your young players develop. Roger Goodell needs to stop trying to over

evolutionize the NFL.

Yes. NFL preseason games are worthless. Two is all they need.
