Only in Madison...

...would people organize a Pride event and call it Fruit Fest. lol

What could only happen where you live?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I have a good friend who grew up in Madison. She loves to call it The People's Republic of Madison. I'm dying to visit sometime.

As for something that could only happen where I live (New York City)...well, on Saturday night I took my visiting sister and brother-in-law to an intimate bar/restaurant here where we got to say hello to Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulders, Linda Lavin, and Peter Dinklage. I loved the randomness of that.

I think I was most excited about Linda Lavin, myself.

I have a love/hate thing with madison. It was a neat place to live, but after a while the 10,000 self-important weirdos got just so damn annoying.

Maybe if I hadn't grown up in a city with so many left-wingnuts, I might be more moderate in my views. I just never wanted to be like the weirdos in this town. hmph!

The fact that I disagree with those around me doesn't make me crazy.

Well, I don't have a victim mentality, so I don't see myself as tortured. My parents taught me at an early age that I would not necessarily agree with everyone I encountered (or they with me). So I never felt the need to run away from people who differed with me.

The misguided deserve my sympathy, not my disdain or hatred.

I have been there on multipule occations. It's not that great. But I was never there for my own personal enjoyment though.

There's nothing that can only happen where I'm from.

Summer is really the best time to visit Madison - mainly because all the students are gone.

Of course, if you visited, I'd show you the hot spots - of which there are many. It's not such a great clubbing town, but there's plenty of music. And you're guaranteed to eat and drink well here!
