Yeah, Obama and the Democrats get a fucking F for this shit.

Please, what can the man do? Put a cap on it manually? He can't just seize the company, they're not US based. From the start, Obama has been sending out miles and miles of boom and crews in the efforts to protect the shoreline, back when they thought this was a "minor leak" rolleyes. But I'm not satisfied with the slow response that the Administration had when the leak became more serious. But frankly, from the very start, BP has been lying to everyone. They're the ones who are majorly responsible for this and should be held accountable. Now that's what I want to see Obama do...BP should be held accountable for this mess. But as far as action for the Gulf itself goes, I want to see more action done on the part of the President in terms of clean up. More crews, more booms, more skimmers and flotillas...

BAN DISPERSANT USE, WASHINGTON!!!!! pissed DAMN BP....as if the spill wasn't enough. Permenantly contaminate the area....yeah that's a good image seller there. rolleyes

Look, I'm on Obama's side. He should have been on this the very instant it happened and exploiting it politically. He hasn't done either. you think those pigs on the right won't exploit this issue to try and take him down? they will and Obama should be smarter than that by now.

This is a "damned if you do, damend if you don't" scenario for Obama.

If he had assumed control of the situation from the beginning, the Right would've been calling for people to arm themselves for the pending "Socialist takeover". They're all about separation of business and State.

THEN, something like this happens, and they wonder why the Feds aren't doing anything. But when he goes down there, they scream "photo op!"

Does the company responsible have to pay for all the clean-up? They should. Let them go bankrupt and put all the representatives in jail.

What the hell can be so difficult in fixing the hole? I really don´t get it. It they are smart enough to get in from under the ocean to the "f*****g" gas stations, they should be able to fix it?

Is there a world wide media cover up of this story in the UK we do not see these pictures on TV, the news reports are short and lacking in real detail! At the weekend people protesting outside of BP's offices got little or no media air time. The BP Oil Slick is killing life in the gulf and no one's getting mad ? mad I would really like to know what is being reported around the world about this ? sad [Edited 5/25/10 8:49am]

You're right. Here in the Netherlands, there are no pictures or video's in the news about the destruction this all causes. It's like total silence. What's is going here?

We only get to see how they try to stop the leaking, but that's about it. This pictures on this thread are the first i see about this disaster.

Well don't worry when this leak can't or won't be capped into the relief wells are finished in mid august at the earliest. This spill should be well on its way up the eastern USA coast and out in the ocean on the gulf stream heading right for europe.

It's silly it has to take that long for relief wells. Just imagine how high seafood is gonna be by then. It's sick. But if it does reach European shores as predicted, Europe would be more blunt about it than the American media is.
