Boris Kodjoe To Star in J.J. Abrams-Produced Spy Series May 3, 2010 NBC has picked its first new drama series for next season: J.J. Abrams' "Undercovers." Abrams co-wrote, produced and directed the "Undercovers" pilot, which stars British actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Boris Kodjoe as a married couple who are reactivated as CIA agents after years of retirement. "Undercovers" is the first pilot Abrams has directed since 2004's "Lost." Given Abrams' pedigree, few doubted the show would receive a series order, though sources say the network was thrilled with the pilot. Josh Reims ("Brothers and Sisters") serves as a co-writer and executive producer, and Bryan Burk ("Fringe," "Lost, "Alias") is an executive producer. "Having J.J. on our creative team is a great reason for celebration," said NBC primetime president Angela Bromstad. "In 'Undercovers,' J.J. and Josh have found a breakout couple that is rich in character and brimming with romance and action. We feel he's found the perfect cast." http://www.reuters.com/ar...ZM20100503

I don't know Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Boris Kodjoe has only ever impressed me as physically beautiful, and J.J. Abrams is hit-or-miss to me. But for some reason, I'm really excited about this. It's so cool to see a prime-time drama series with a goodlooking, functional, highly skilled black leading couple.
I'll definitely watch this. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

ZERO acting chops. I won't go so far as to say zero, but, nah, unless something extraordinary happens, I don't expect him to take an Oscar or Emmy anytime soon either. This project could be interesting, though. It could be his chance to really show some range (and I'm hoping Abrams explores everything while capitalizing on the utter void of a character like this in prime time since.... ), or just another opportunity to see shirtless Boris, French-speaking Boris, shirtless French-speaking Boris... Saw him on Broadway when he replaced Terrence Howard in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Although he looked great taking a shower, that muhhfucka lost all appeal after he started butchering a Southern accent and Tennessee Williams. He don't nevah need to speak again. But he's nice in person even if he comes across as kinda dim.
