I have strong gaydar. It needs a tune up once in a blue moon but otherwise it works. My gaydar does not sound off for that shorty. Come to think of it...he's not even that good of an actor.

I think the rumor is more that Scientology may claim to "cure" homosexuality.

I think people (like me) also believe Tom Cruise hides his true personality--ie he's fake--and maybe his sexuality is part of that.

But personally I don't think he's gay.

I've actually met Tom Cruise twice, and the thought never entered my mind. I bet a envious person started the rumor in hope that it'd derail his career.

I agree about the acting. I think he's just been in good movies, but they weren't necessarily good because of him. He's good at sweating and emoting, but put him in something like Fried Green Tomatoes or A Rumor of Angels, and he'd look like a baffoon. I lost faith in him as a human when he started going off on people like Matt Lauer, and Brooke Shields. You don't beat up on women, even verbally - especially on national TV or in an interview. It was a low blow by him, and I honestly think it has effected his career and public standing since. (There was some bit of gentle humor in that he was filming a Nazi film around that whole time period of bad press.)

Donald Trump is already a schmuck and a womanizer, but when he started beating up on Martha Stewart, Barbara Walters, and Rosie O'Donnell - he is the ultimate asshole. It's not about siding with those particular women, it's about siding with women in general when a man attacks them. All women handled themselves well, and Trump even later ended up on The View w/ Walters. He's more worried about his image in the media that he thinks is interested in him rather than his "business" dealings (most of which never have his name on the deed, and the other half of which are in some stage of bankruptcy at any given moment.)

For me, his movies are hit & miss(I think Collateral was his greatest performance).

yeah I agree, I don't like him personally but he does okay in some roles, and he's chosen a lot of decent films over the years. And yeah I agree he's a million times better than Keanu (Kevin Costner is okay, but only at one type of "aw-shucks" character). I even think he's better than Brad Pitt, who shows a little bit of range, but always seems to be aware that he's on camera.

And that's what matters to me, I don't care about actors' personalities when it comes to watching them onscreen. Tom is not the best and he's not the worst.
