Thank you guys for extending your love to my neighbors. I live in Nashville, but I'll claim Kentucky as neighbors right now, too. We need each other.

I can't speak for other areas, but the volunteer response from our fellow citizens in Nashville has been nothing short of amazing. I guess we're not called The Volunteer State for nothing! Little to no looting to speak of...the citizens of Nashville came together to save our last standing water treatment plant by sandbagging it on Monday. Our inmates filled the sandbags, and volunteers stacked them up. The treatment plant was saved by less than a foot. We're taking care of our own, but a helping hand from our fellow Americans couldn't hurt. That's why I came.

As for the question of "what has the Bible Belt done to deserve this?" I don't even know how to respond to something so hurtful. I'm not a religious person, but it doesn't matter - that question hurts. I didn't do anything to deserve this and neither did my family, but I can promise you that I'll be a better person for this and so will many of my loved ones.

Donation made. It's hard when a natural disaster hits and so many people lose their personal belongings and the lives lost in it. Hope things get better soon.
