Nashville is UNDERWATER. Help us save our beloved Music City, USA.

It hasn't been given a lot of national press, mainly due to some of the other big news stories. The fact still remains: my beloved hometown of Nashville, TN and many of the surrounding cities are underwater. Declared disaster areas.

I will spare you the details & simply ask you to view the pictures below. If you've ever visited our fantastic city, and these pictures move you, please follow the instructions below on how to donate to The Red Cross Disaster Relief program.

I know I'm not a regular poster in this forum, but I'm reaching out as far & wherever I can to help my friends, family and neighbors recover. Every dollar helps. In fact, every good thought, prayer, etc. helps as well.

Some recognizable views:

Where the Tennessee Titans Play:

The Grand Ole Opry:

Downtown Nashville:

A Major Interstate (I-24):

These pictures do nothing to represent the devastation caused in the surrounding areas. The many homes and lives lost and damaged by this.

TO HELP:

Donate online via the Nashville Red Cross here, by phone at 615-250-4300 or by mail at 2201 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203. Remember, the Red Cross is not a government agency and is funded solely by your local donations.

The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee: In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Emergency Management, donate online to the Metro Nashville Disaster Response Fund and/or the Tennessee Emergency Relief Fund HERE (checks can be mailed to P.O. Box 440225, Nashville, TN, 37244).

Even a donation of 1.00 will help us. Thank you for taking the time to read this & please keep us in your hearts.

BBC news showed some of the devastation and talked about the death toll.
I had no idea it hit Nashville so hard.

You guys have been in my prayers. We went through this in Houston in 2001 with Tropical Storm Allison, and then in 2008 with Hurricane Ike. I know how devastating this is.

They've been airing coverage about it every night on NBC Nightly News. We've had quite a bit of flooding here in Kentucky as well. I'm praying for everybody going through this mess pray

Yes it is. Don't you see the question mark at the end? First the Gulf, now Nashville. God is punishing the Bible belt and I just have to wonder why.

Hey, if gays can cause 9/11 and Katrina, then it only stand to reason that the Bible belt is being punished in some way. lol

But yeah, this is really sad actually. I hope Nashville recovers.

I understand where you're coming from, I think.

But has anyone in this thread spewed that homophobic nonsense? Not that I'm denying it gets said; I've heard that and worse.

But if the answer is no, I don't think they deserve that type of sarcasm during a discussion about a tragedy that affects some Orgers, including the OP, personally. shrug

Point taken. On that note I apologize for making a facetious point here. To the OP, I sincerely hope Nashville recovers.

If I see this topic in P&R I'll consider it open game.
