Hey again Somehow I missed this one. I am 99% sure I have been there, but as I am generally pretty horrible with the names of places, I can't say definitively. Plus, when you factor in this, things get even more confusing. My friends and I spent most of time in Allston/Brighton where Comm Ave splits off. There were also quite a few silly nights on Newbury Street and the alley with the old Avenue C club. So do you still have family in Boston/Cambridge? Almost all of my family lives within an hour radius of the city. I still go back there once a year for a week or so....

Cambridge, Boston and suburbs north and south. The Tasty was that tiny little diner in Harvard Square right near the subway station. The owner and his two sons ran it, one son was disabled. I went to school with the boys. The place where Comm Ave splits off holds a special memory for me. It was the first time JerseyKRS (now my husband) came up to visit me. It was the dead of winter, and my car broke down right there on Comm Ave in the middle of rush hour traffic. We sat there in the freezing cold for 2 HOURS before a tow truck came. Chris had to pee, but he didn't want to pee in front of me. Finally, he couldn't hold it anymore and went into a parking lot across the street to pee in the bushes.

We've probably peed in the same bush. (Boy could that be taken the wrong way)!!!!! Coming from BU, when the "T" curls off to the left at Comm Ave, the bars we would hang out were straight up the road. In other words, we wouldn't go left with Comm Ave but stayed straight. I can't remember the names anymore. Maybe Hearth and Kettle? Is that in Fanueil Hall? Any way, there was also a club where local bands would play that I think was right by that corner. T T the Bears. My friend's band in college used to play there once a month and we'd always have about 10 guys go in and support them. Such fond memories...

But growing up there it's really just a way of life. I probably only eat donuts once or twice a year now, but for that same reason, I can't eat Krispy Kreme. They're just way too rich and sweet for my taste. I guess you could say, I actually prefer the more mellow nuts o' dough..... First the peeing in the bushes and now this. What's the Org doing to me?

That's right - it's up on Mass Ave. There was another club they played a little up the street from where we are talking. I've just misplaced the name now. But TTs was/is great! They also played at a place near Fenway called the Ratskellar (sp) a number of times. I believe that place either closed up shop or got caught up in a fire 10 or 15 years ago.

TT's was and still is a great venue...the Middle East downstairs isn't so bad either. A lot of great bands are playing at the Paradise lately. I don't like the setup there but it's not a bad venue. I live in RI so anything is better than what we have here, which isn't much.
