Does Craigslist do this to anyone else?

Whenever I go on Craigslist using my own computer, instead of taking me to the generic main page it automatically redirects me to Amsterdam. My roommate's computer does the same thing, but she gets redirected to Austin, Texas.

Why is it doing this? Does this happen to anyone else or just us?

That doesn't happen to me. That's weird.

Maybe your computer is a fortune teller and is telling you your future lies in Amsterdam (and your roommate's in Austin). smile

I have always thought it would be kind of cool to live in Amsterdam for a year or two.

Try looking into the computer properties and see if you can find where the computer was set up. Sometimes, you will find a wierd address in there. Look for something that says, "This computer belongs to"...Something like that.

Do you live in Amsterdam or nearby? If so, then when you first browsed on Craigslist it probably put a cookie and your computer to remember your IP address, so when you come back on, it automatically goes to the page you were browsing. So the best way to reverse that is to clear your cookie from your cache.

We live in Vancouver, Canada. Makes the redirection on both our computers a little puzzling. lol

Did anyone ever set your computer up for a proxy server?
