Does anybody know about the South Beach/ Miami Club Scene? I was planning on going to South Beach at the end of April. My friends and I are taking a bachelor party trip to miami for a college buddy of mine. We wanted to do something besides the tradional strip club thing. We wanted to know what were the best clubs for in South Beach to go to. We didn't want to go to any of those clubs where you have to stand in line for 3 hours and you still might not get in. We also would like to go to a club that plays music other than techno or electronica stuff.
Anybody have any knowledge of the miami club scene? I would appreciate your help. [Edited 4/2/10 10:09am]

What are your suggestions? What nights are you clubbing? Miami South Beach is tricky because most of the better clubs have gay nights on at least one weekend night. Also, what 'other' music do you want to hear? Rock, hip hop, latin? South Beach is packed with clubs for all tastes. If you have a bit of money you can avoid the young frat crowd by going to an ultra lounge or more uppity type of place. Also, some restaurants are actually clubs (Tantra if it's still open). The issue is that I haven't been there in almost 3 years now and that's an eternity in the forums there. But there's alway something for everyone. You could just walk Collins Ave, Ocean Side or Lincoln Rd (all within 5 or 10 minutes from each other) and see the variety.

We like hip hop/r&b but we can handle top 40. I wouldn't rule out latin music.
